Worked and installed as per the YouTube instructional. A few details I wish were included: how long and how can the opened components remain and still be used? A day, a week or? There is a lot left over. Also- how the material is left is how it’s going to look. It’s all cosmetic up front for the most part. Shards of glass can be felt on the inside of truck- I covered with a careful application of urethane. Not perfect but good enoughI’m happy over all.
This product was better than described. I love it and i saved hundreds of dollars using this glass

Was weed eating at church and busted one of my 3 rear windows on my '03 Tundra. It
is a middle slider. Does the entire assembly need to be replaced, or can one of the back glass pieces be replaced by itself?

I had a busted slider on an '88 yota pickup. My local glass guy said he could fab one... then he realized it was too curved and couldn't. My
only option was to buy the whole assembly (I ended up fabbing one out of hardware store plexiglass and it worked well enough). Hopefully you don't have to buy the whole assembly. Check with a glass guy, they might have access to one without having to buy the whole assembly. Or.... do a parts rundown on one of the stealership sites to see if it's a seperate part number from the whole assembly. You might get lucky.
I looked it up recently because I was taking it apart cleaning the drains. I think the whole assembly is $600

I busted one of side panels of my back window in
my Tacoma. They had to replace the whole thing. Its also about twice as much as the windshield.

Unfortunately, it seems like the only correct way to do it is replace the entire
assembly. Safelite is $429 installed. Will be calling local glass shop here in town on Monday....So much for suspension parts for now...lol...

Found a few replacement windows here in TX for $75 from wrecked Tundras (RIP).
Hopefully my glass guy will be willing to install for me.

Do not use an aftermarket replacement. Never ends well.
When I was chasing water leaks my rear window came out pretty easy after the four nuts were removed. I put it back in with
urethane. Not too bad of a job. Maybe yours will come right out too. Might save you some money.

Talked to glass guy today. Will install for $100. So, $75 for the window, gas money to get it, and $100 install, certainly coming out ahead. Plus, I called and paid for the
window today so it will be ready and waiting for me next Monday.

Went and picked up the window today. Was a nice family trip, so the food budget was high with 5 of us....But it's my vacation, so it's ok. Stopped by Duluth Trading in Lubbock and got some super soft lounge pants and some more boxer briefs. Got home and double checked the size of windows, and we're good to go in the morning.

Who are you getting to do it? There's a place on 34th that does all the windshields in our vans for a pretty fair price.
Insurance won't cover a rear window? I know my insurance will cover the windshield against rocks and things, so this got me wondering if in general, a policy will cover all the glass. I'm guessing it would under the comprehensive coverage and that sort of thing shouldn't affect your rates going forward. I had a new car once and the windshield was a rock magnet, broke 3 windshields in 2 years and the insurance company replaced them each time with no fuss or rate increase.

Canyon Glass in Canyon did the install for $100. $25 for urethane kit, and $75 for install. Told me there price on a aftermarket window would be $325, so I am thinking I made out pretty decent. Turned into a nice day trip with the family. Unfortunately, I don't have glass coverage on my truck, otherwise I would've gone that route.

I showed the guys at the glass shop the video on YouTube of the guy replacing one piece of glass. They had their questions and doubts about that method he’s using. The owner of the glass shop told me the other day that they can replace the slider, but are sort of out of luck on the side panels due to how Toyota seals them at the
factory.

Looks good. I think I need to replace the felts in the channel of my rear slider. Window rattles a little if half-open. I rarely open it, but when I do want to in spring/fall, I'd prefer it it
didn't rattle because the channel felts/seals have dried up or contracted from early days.

Did you buy the whole assembly, or just the broken pane?

Had to buy the
entire assembly. The two side windows are urethaned in from the factory. A guy online sells “replacements” that you urethane in place using the broken glass frame as a backing. My glass guy said it didn’t look that reliable, but said he could’ve replaced the slider if needed.

I saw that too. I don't know glueing new glass to broken glass? Doesn't sound like a great idea to me.
