No archive order option on amazon app

  • Amazon archived orders are hidden from your Orders page.
  • You can only archive 500 orders per account on Amazon and there's no way to delete orders.
  • You can't hide your archive, but you can remove items from your Amazon browsing history.

Sharing an Amazon account can be useful, but if you're trying to order something special for the person who shares that account, your order history can quash the surprise. Archiving orders, which hides them from your order history, can help you avoid that issue.

But you should know that you're limited to 500 archived orders per account. And if you don't have an Amazon Household account, your browsing history will still list the item in question. So you may also want to hide your browsing history as well.

Here's what you should know about archiving orders on Amazon.

How to archive an Amazon order on a computer

You can only archive orders on the Amazon website, not on the mobile app.

1. Go to the Amazon website and log in, if needed.

2. Hover over the Account and Lists tab, and then select Orders.

Go into your Orders. Devon Delfino

3. Scroll through and locate the order you want to archive, then click Archive Order in the bottom-left corner of the order.

How to hide Amazon archived orders

You can't delete orders you've made, and unfortunately, you also can't hide them from your archive. That said, you can take things a step further by hiding your browsing history. Here's how:

1. Go to the Amazon website and log in to your account, if necessary.

2. Click Edit your browsing history, under Recently Viewed.

3. Find the item you want to remove and click the Remove from view button.

Hiding and locating orders shouldn't be this difficult

Some things in life cannot be undone. For some things, there will always be a permanent record: that scar you got trying to land a sick jump on your bike, that questionable marriage you had in Vegas, and your order history on Amazon. What do we do when we don't want people to know about some of our more dubious decisions? We hide them. Some decisions you have to pay your best friend never to talk about (a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 should do the trick), and with others, you just click a link.

How to archive Amazon orders

There is no way to delete orders from your Amazon history. The best you can do is to hide (aka archive) them:

  1. Go to the Amazon homepage.
  2. Tap Accounts and lists in the upper-right corner.
  3. Select Orders from the drop-down menu.

    archiveOrders1

  4. Find the Archive order link in the lower-left corner of the order you'd like to archive.

    archiveOrders2

  5. Click Archive order in the lower-right corner to finish the process.

    archiveOrders3

What does this accomplish? It hides the order from your order history. There's still a record of it, and it can still be viewed. It just doesn't show up on the Orders page. Why would you want to archive an order? That's a personal decision. Perhaps you share an account with someone and you're buying them a gift. To ensure they don't accidentally stumble upon the order for their gift, you could archive it. Granted, this prevents accidents. Anyone with access to that account can still view archived orders if they want.

How to view archived orders on Amazon

If you need to locate an archived order, head back to your web browser. Unarchiving orders is as simple as archiving orders. Here are the steps you'll need to follow:

  1. Go to the Amazon homepage.
  2. Tap Accounts and lists in the upper-right corner.
  3. archiveView1

Select Account from the drop-down menu.
  4. Choose Archived orders and select the appropriate order.

    archiveView2

  5. Click Unarchive order in the lower-left corner to finish the process.

To view your archived orders, navigate to your Account page. Next, click Archived orders. From here, you can interact with your orders just like you would normally. You can view the order details, buy it again, get support, or write a review. If you'd like to remove an order from your archived orders, click Unarchive order in the lower-left corner of the order.

There are a few weak spots in this system. There's no way to archive orders via the Android or iOS app, and there's no easy way to view them. On both the desktop and the app, archived orders can be viewed by searching orders, which isn't too bad since you'd have to know what to look for ahead of time.

The real issue is that archiving an order doesn't remove the item from your Buy Again list. If order obfuscation is your objective, you'll need to remove it from Buy Again as well.

  1. Select the order you want to remove from your Buy Again list.
  2. Click Remove this item.

And don't forget about Amazon Locker and Amazon Counter if you want to make sure the order never makes it to your porch.

For the ultimate solution to keeping your order history secret: don't share your account. Many people share accounts, so they can share the benefits of their Amazon Prime membership, but it turns out you can share your Prime benefits with one other person. You don't even have to have the same address.

Where is the archive button on Amazon app?

To archive an order: Go to Your Orders and locate the order or item you want to archive. Select Archive order.

Why can't I see my Archived orders on Amazon?

Log into your Amazon account. Hover over the Accounts & Lists dropdown in the top-right corner. Select Your Account from the dropdown menu. Click Archived orders in the Ordering and shopping preferences subsection.
