Featuring improved inlet and outlet passages along with wider bearing clearances, JEGS GM LS Oil Pumps provide maximum oil flow and solid pressure throughout the RPM range. To increase support and terminate dynamic shaft deflection the drive and idler shafts have been extended into the CNC-machined cover. The hardened steel gears are up to 25% longer than in your stock oil pump, giving you an enhanced replacement pump for your LS engine.

Features:

  • Manufactured for high performance
  • Updated pressure relief design
  • Engineered to prevent cavitation, aeration, oil starvation, & drops in oil flow and pressure
  • CNC machined and coated for improved performance & durability

23517 is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performance quality oil pump This is a performance quality oil pump. Close tolerances and high end manufacturing techniques.

Is a high volume oil pump worth it?

A High-Volume Pump will push more oil through the system. It has larger gears to move more oil per revolution. These pumps are good for performance engines with larger bearing clearances. The added oil will help maintain oil pressure and carry away heat.

What's the difference between a high volume oil pump and high pressure oil pump?

High volume pump will deliver large volume at low to low resistance. The high pressure pump will deliver small volume at high pressure to high resistance.

What happens when the high pressure oil pump goes out?

A bad oil pump will lose the ability to properly pump oil through your system. This will result in low oil pressure that could lead to further vehicle damage. Increased engine operating temperature.

How much oil do you need to prime an LS oil pump?

By removing the oil pressure galley plug from the front driver side of the LS block and using a 3/8-inch length of rubber hose and a small funnel to pour about 5-6 ounces of oil into the oil pump, the pump will be primed.
