ATLANTA, Feb. 27, 2007 – American Express and Delta Air Lines today announced new benefits to their Delta SkyMiles® Cards from American Express for consumer and small business Cardmembers. Now, Cardmembers can take advantage of richer benefits, including earning additional bonus miles when using the Card and getting companion certificates upon renewal with no blackout dates and no minimum fare restrictions.

New Enhanced Features:

• Earn Bonus Miles by Using Your Card. Every year, Cardmembers can:
  • Earn 1,000 bonus miles for reaching $5,000 in eligible purchases with the Delta SkyMiles Options Credit Card1
  • Earn 2,500 bonus miles for reaching $10,000 in eligible purchases with the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card or the Delta SkyMiles Business Credit Card2
  • Earn 5,000 bonus miles for reaching $15,000 in eligible purchases, plus an additional 5,000 bonus miles for reaching a total of $25,000 in eligible purchases with the Delta SkyMiles Gold Credit Card or the Delta SkyMiles Business Gold Credit Card3
  • Earn an additional 10,000 Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs)4 for reaching $50,000 in eligible purchases with the Delta SkyMiles Platinum Credit Card and the Delta SkyMiles Platinum Business Credit Card. Medallion Status gives Cardmembers extraordinary privileges, such as unlimited complimentary domestic upgrades, priority boarding, preferred seating5, discounted Crown Room Club membership6, and more. *Taxes/Fees/Restrictions for $99 Gold Companion Certificate and Platinum Companion Certificate. Companion Certificate valid for one round-trip Coach-Class Companion Ticket with the purchase of certain adult round-trip fares on published routings within the 48 contiguous United States. Residents of Hawaii and Alaska must originate from there to the 48 contiguous United States. Both passengers must be booked on the same flights and dates, at the same time. Companion Ticket seats and primary ticket seats are limited and may not be available on all flights. Companion Tickets do not include a $3.40 Federal Excise Tax, Passenger Facility Charge(s) of up to $4.50 for each flight segment, or the September 11th Security Fee of up to $2.50 for each flight segment. A flight segment is defined as a takeoff and a landing. For residents of Alaska/Hawaii, and for travel to/from Alaska/Hawaii, Companion Tickets do not include U.S. International Air Transportation tax of up to $15.00 per round-trip. Primary and Companion Tickets cost $15 more if issued at a Delta City ticket office or airport ticketing location. These taxes and fees are subject to change, are the responsibility of the passenger, and must be paid at the time the primary ticket is purchased and the Companion Ticket is issued. If in any calendar year your Eligible Spending on your Platinum Delta SkyMiles Credit Card is $25,000 or more, you will be awarded 10,000 Medallion Qualification Miles (“MQMs” as defined in the Delta SkyMiles Membership Guide and Program Rules), and if in that same calendar year your Eligible Spending on your Platinum Delta SkyMiles Credit Card is $50,000 or more, you will be awarded an additional 10,000 MQMs (“Additional MQMs”). You may be permitted to have more than one Options, Classic, Gold, or Platinum Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express account; however, you are only eligible to receive one annual Eligible Spending bonus for each type (i.e., Options, Classic, Gold, or Platinum) of Delta SkyMiles Credit Card account from American Express.

5) Upgrades, priority boarding, and preferred seating are subject to limited availability and may not be available on all flights or in all markets.
