How do I file a complaint with the California Department of Insurance?

You may access our electronic Provider Complaint Center by visting our website at www.insurance.ca.gov and selecting “file a Complaint”. You can then register to the electronic portal or access our printable complaint forms. If you have any questions, please call our Consumer Hotline toll free number 1-800-927-4357.

What does CA Dept of insurance do?

All of CDI's functions, including overseeing insurer solvency, licensing agents and brokers, conducting market conduct reviews, resolving consumer complaints, and investigating and prosecuting insurance fraud, are to protect consumers.
