In July 2010, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security certified the Diplomatic Security Training Center as an Information Systems Security Line of Business (ISSLOB) program and a Center of Excellence. The Center of Excellence designation highlights the Training Center’s capabilities as a “shared-service center” for cybersecurity and Tier II information assurance role-based training. The ISSLOB certification has enabled the Training Center's Information Assurance Branch (IAB) to offer its low-cost, role-based Best Practices courses, and online training to other government agencies and departments through Form SF-182. The mission of the IAB is to provide current and relevant information assurance and cybersecurity role-based training to IT security professionals and management at every level of government. Did you know you have access to degree programs and courses at a reduced tuition rate – in cybersecurity and other areas?As part of the continuing efforts to provide higher educational opportunities to the Federal workforce the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) partners with colleges and universities through OPM’s Federal Academic Alliance. This provides current Federal employees with the opportunity to pursue post-secondary education at reduced tuition rates. This program is a benefit that Federal employees can take advantage of at their own pace to pursue or enhance their higher academic education.
