Itinerary

We'll meet in the morning at your hotel/accommodation in Zagreb. Hop aboard in a tour vehicle and a journey to Slovenia can start.

- 2 hours drive from Zagreb to our first stop, Ljubljana
- We'll walk about 30-45minutes through the city, after which You'll have about 2 hours of free time to explore and enjoy on your own.
- After Ljubljana, we will head more North to visit Lake Bled
- Choose from visiting Bled Castle, or embark on a boat to visit only Slovenian island, or do both.
- We'll spend approximately 2 hours on the Bled lake
- Drive back to Zagreb (approximately 2, 5h long drive)

Furthermore, during your Ljubljana’s private tour will explore many baroque buildings, including the cathedral of St. Nicholas. Next, to see the medieval fortress which stands up there like an old guardian of the city. Afterward, we continue with our trip from Ljubljana to Lake Bled. In other words, known as one of the single most breathtaking attractions anywhere in the Alps. The stunning blue lake in the heart of the town, the picture-postcard church on the island, a medieval castle clinging to a rocky cliff, and some of the highest peaks of the Julian Alps. This Alpine lake with the only island in Slovenia has been a world-renowned paradise for centuries. Lookout at the lake from a Bled castle on a cliff and visit the island on a traditional “pletna” boat. The history of the Bled castle reaches back to 1004. The Bled Castle is now arranged as an exhibition area. Display rooms next to the chapel present the ancient history of Bled from the first excavations. Following the tour of the castle, we will stop for Bled’s famous “Cremeschnitte”, a cake made according to the original recipe since 1953

Finally, you are going to enjoy a traditional local lunch in one of the local restaurants. You will enjoy the stunning countryside landscape and local homemade folk-cuisine specialties together with excellent local wines. Serving domestic cheese, Prosciutto, Pancetta, spicy salami, prosciutto pate, hard cow cheese, pork loin, baked potatoes and the most delicious bread. What else to look for? Following lunch, we are continuing the trip return to Zagreb and are expected to arrive in Zagreb at 6.00 pm.

Visiting Lake Bled and Vintgar Gorge in one day is totally doable. Also called Bled Gorge, this place is famous for the amazing nature surrounding it. The Radovna River is carving through the massive stone walls and you can follow the river course while walking on wooden suspended bridges.

How do you get from Lake Bled to Zagreb?

Croatia Bus International operates a bus from Zagreb to Bled once daily. Tickets cost €18 - €26 and the journey takes 3h 18m. Alternatively, Croatian Railways (HŽPP) operates a train from Zagreb Glavni Kol. to Lesce Bled twice daily. Tickets cost €11 - €16 and the journey takes 2h 59m.
