Can you use any cut of pork for pulled pork?Unlike brisket, pulled pork can be made from any fatty pork roast or from a whole hog, but the best cut for pulled pork is the shoulder. Is pork butt the same as pork shoulder?Pork butt and pork shoulder are both cuts that come from the pig's shoulder (despite the term pork butt suggesting otherwise). Is pork shoulder or pork loin better for pulled pork?Is there a preferable cut of meat for pulled pork, though, when it comes to choosing the meat? While a leaner cut, like a top loin roast, can be used to make pulled pork, the marbled content from the pork shoulder is better for pulled pork.
What is the best meat for pulled meat?Chuck roast is arguably the best cut to use for pulled beef. Similar to the front shoulder of pork (or the pork “butt”) chuck roasts, being from the front shoulder of the steer, are chock full of fat, collagen, and marbling. This is the stuff we need to make delicious juicy pulled beef.
