I have greatly enjoyed the online iMSA program. The live, interactive classes have been very helpful, as well as the readings, lecture videos, group assignments, and
homework. I highly recommend this program!

My first semester
at the university was phenomenal. The professors are truly the best - they will work with you and want you to succeed. I had support from them, my classmates, and communicating with everyone was actually easy- emails are responded to the same day. I have nothing negative to say at all, very happy with my decision to attend here!
I found University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign by googling 'professors researching archaea.' One of the first people to pop up was Dr. Rachel Whitaker. Upon reaching out to her and having a stupendous zoom conversation from bacterial viruses to host-virus relationships, I decided to dig deep and found other professors working with similar organism, Dr. Bill Metcalf, Dr. Gary Olsen, and Dr. Isaac Caan. After speaking with Dr. Metcalf, I knew
this would be the place for me to perform my PhD candidacy.
