This position is responsible for supporting Distributed systems in Hybrid Cloud environment. Designing, implementing of Cloud Migration and automation, reporting and configurating of virtualized and physical IT architectures supporting virtualized server environments for VDI desktops. In collaboration with system and network administrators. Designing, implementing, and enforcing standards through server centric tools to manage servers and endpoints.Utilizing Solar winds scanning tool to implement scanning through automation and effective tool utilization. What You'll Be Doing: Perform routine and complex end-to-end support of a variety of Server OS/desktop security users and applications. Perform development and maintenance activities for security applications and tools. Troubleshoot complex systems and networking problems. Perform investigative research, analysis and troubleshooting to identify, resolve, and report highly complex security issues. Develop and implement cloud-based procedures, continuous monitoring, compliance, and cloud asset inventory strategies. Hands-on engineer; ensure System software/hardware is well designed, high quality and meets and/or exceeds the needs of our customers. Work with customers, fellow engineers, architects, product management, etc. to articulate and shape the technical roadmap and seek out innovative opportunities that have high impact in a fast-moving market. Mentor and develop engineers to build a strong engineering bench. Promote a culture of innovation, performance, and disciplined execution. Assist in recruiting to maintain diverse engineering talent. Monitor system and network configurations to ensure compliance with information security policies, standards and procedures. Thoroughly and accurately understand issues and analyze the problem in a systematic fashion. Ensure virtualization systems are compliant within required security standards. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for VMware server/desktop virtualization environment. Develop and implement testing strategies and document results. Participate as an infrastructure engineering representative on engineering teams for the design, development, implementation and/or integration of Server/desktop virtualization environments. Serve as an escalation resource for endpoint incident troubleshooting. Lead the design and implementation of state-of-the-art Infrastructure, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery processes. Work with developers and the systems engineering team to build long-term solutions and tools supporting the Engineering team at large. Design scaling strategies and develop automation scripts and solutions for the purpose of streamlining, implementing, and testing sites/software. Build and innovate to replace large-scale manual operating processes with automation. Collaborate and help build utilities and tools for internal use that enable you and your fellow engineers to operate safely at high speed and wide scale. Drive analysis, design, and development of automation tools for deployment, development, and operational tasks. Manage and provide direction for initial technical implementation which supports architectural changes that solve scaling and performance problems. Develop infrastructure as code and testable infrastructure. Move systems and infrastructure to the Cloud and build pipelines to deploy to the Cloud. Develop appropriate metrics to demonstrate performance and operational efficiency. Work cross-functionally with various teams to drive amazing results. Resolve problems at their root with simple and repeatable solutions. Design automated systems management solutions with self-repair as the goal. Regularly solicit feedback and Hosted Applications requirements from customers and end-users. Collaborate and makes proposals across several teams on engineering work and help Infrastructure team members make informed decisions in alignment with GTS strategic plans. Analyze and translate business, information and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions to achieve business objectives. Define the strategy that drives the infrastructure and develops the technical vision and roadmaps. Shares the technical and business vision on a frequent basis. Provide effective production support including accurate problem identification, ticket documentation and customer/vendor dialogue. Make strategic decisions by analyzing complex data systems and incorporating knowledge from all business units to drive a solution. Participate in the evaluation, planning, design and implementation of new application initiatives. Serve as the expert in implementations and cloud migrations, virtualization technologies; recommending solutions to support and enhance our existing systems. Assist in the creation of the system design and functional specifications for internal development projects. Identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve business processes and productivity. Read, understand and adhere to organizational Standard Operating Procedures. Assist in establishing and enforcing departmental standards. Ensure the application of Enterprise IT policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of all services. What You'll Bring To The Company: Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or IT related field and ten to fifteen years of experience as an advanced system engineer is preferred. Seven to ten years of engineering experience developing and delivering complex, distributed, enterprise class hardware/software, and creating successful business outcomes. Ten or more years of progressive experience in engineering and automation. Strong background in Ansible/Puppet/Power shell scripting and Windows/Linux server/desktop platforms and an understanding of virtualized desktop platforms preferred. Background in Cloud Implementation/Automation/Citrix/VDI experience is a plus. Individual must be goal oriented, organized, and motivated to learn and advance to a higher level within professional career. Experienced or conversant with public clouds - AWS (preferred), Azure and/or GCP. Expertise with build pipelines, packaging, and artifact management. Responsible for end-to-end Kubernetes administration activities (Installation, Patching, application onboarding). Expertise in Cloud services (AWS, Azure or GCP) and Microservices. Knowledge with AWS EKS and Tanzu mission control would be a plus. Expertise in programming and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Groovy, Bash, Python, Ruby. Extensive experience with CI tools such as Jenkins. Strong background in Linux in an enterprise production environment. Experience with agile methodologies and practices. Experience using configuration management software like Ansible or Puppet. Experience with Build Tools such as Ant, Maven, Npm and Gradle. Strong interest in learning new and emerging technologies. An understanding of network engineering and security principles (e.g. protocols, routing, switching, filtering, firewall rules, etc.). Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware. Systems administration (Linux and Windows) background. Good understanding of Security and systems best practices.
