MJII Advanced will be working in Iready during class Monday. Remember you had 2 lessons due last week and 2 for the week of Thanksgiving. She will blend them into the total so make sure you have 4. Extra lessons get extra credit so feel free to do more if you need them in your grade.

Algebra 1 will be doing DESMOS marble slides with lines during class Monday. Turn in your worksheet from Friday for credit.

================================================

Tuesday MJII will be attending the spelling bee.

Tuesday Algebra will be catching turkeys with graphing lines.

Please show some restraint and do not cover Ms. Dobson’s ceiling with darts. She really wants to do this competition and it will be moved to Monday after Thanksgiving assuming it doesn’t have to be cancelled due to the lack of control in the classes this week.

Regular Credit is always more important and worth more than extra credit. You don’t get a free ride to a high grade this close to the end of the quarter. Make sure your actual assignments are done before wasting your time on extra credit that is worth less.

Ms. Dobson will add the “staying in class extra credit” soon so if you haven’t already lost it by leaving the classroom too often, don’t start now. Once it is put in the gradebook it can still go down through the last day of the quarter 10/14.

The PMA on the 9th for both classes (and 10th for Algebra) will have a score and if you get above the average for Ms. Dobson’s classes you will get a small boost of extra credit to your assessment grade. Please take this test seriously.

If you are in need of extra credit before the end of the quarter you have the following option:

MJII Advanced – You can do Iready lessons extra every week. They don’t count as much as regular lessons so if you are behind in your regular lessons you will be raising your Iready portion of your grade. If you aren’t behind the credit will still go here and will overflow into the other percents as soon as you exceed the points in your Iready 10% of the grade. (For a regular week when you do 2 lessons you get 20 points. An extra lesson completed and passed gives you 2 more points that week. This has been available all quarter and will continue to be as we go forward in the 2nd quarter.)

Algebra – We will be completing our accelerated Iready diagnostic this week. (We finished it Tuesday in class.) Your extra credit are blue tab lessons Ms. Dobson assigned to you. As soon as we are done these will be available if you are interesting in completing them before 10/14 (the last day of the quarter). They will be 3 points extra credit each in assessments. There are 5 of them!!

Monday 10/7 – Module 4 Practice (Page 1 and 2 practice problems)

  • Homelearning: MathXL Module 4 Practice for test (due Wednesday)

Tuesday 10/8 – Module 4 Practice (Page 3 and 4 practice problems)

  • Homelearning: MathXL assigned Monday (ensure it is done by Wednesday) If you didn’t turn in the classwork today, complete it and turn it in at the start of class Wednesday.

Thursday 10/10 – Practice adding and subtracting fractions and decimals

  • Homelearning: Study for test on Module 4

Friday 10/11 – Test on Module 4

  • Homelearning: ensure you have completed your Ireadys for the week including any for recovery from the Module 3 test!!!!

Monday 10/7 – Topic 7 Compound Inequalities

  • Homelearning: Independent Practice Topic 7 Compound Inequalities – due Wednesday 10/9

Tuesday 10/8 – Completed Iready diagnostic (just to be done) so that Blue tab Iready lessons can be offered for extra credit before the end of the quarter. No credit for green lessons that are your path since most of us are scored in Kindergarten 🙂 When done you could have completed your Independent practice Topic 7 (due Wednesday) or worked on completing the Topic 1->7 in your workbook in preparation for the workbook check Friday.

  • Homelearning: Don’t forget that Independent practice Topic 7 is due tomorrow along with ensuring your workbook is complete for the workbook check on Friday during your test. Don’t forget to bring your workbook on Friday or it will be a zero!!!!!
