Looking to use voice commands to lock your door with Amazon Alexa?  Simply pair the Schlage Connect lock to the VeraPlus controller and then enable the Vera skill inside the Alexa app. Speak “Alexa, lock the front door” to your Amazon Echo or Dot, and Vera will throw the bolt wirelessly.  Cool thing is you can then add electronic switches, Z-Wave LED bulbs, remote control outlets and other devices you can use to create groups in Alexa for automating certain routines you manually do today, like turning the lights off and locking the doors when you go to bed at night.

Customer Questions & Answers

  1. A

If you are facing the interior side of the door, the best way to see whether the door is unlocked or locked would be to look at the position of the interior knob. This model does not have any indicator lights on the interior portion.

  2. A

The Connect series does not have a dedicated app as this lock is designed to connect to a Z-Wave smart home hub such as Ezlo, SmartThings, Wink, or Ring Alarm. The app that you will use to control the lock will be the app with your smart home hub that the lock is connected to.

  3. A

This lock can be paired with the Ring Alarm/base station. To do so, you will first need to exclude the lock from your current Vera hub to allow the lock to be paired with the Ring hub.

  4. A

This model is reversible and can be used on either a left or right-handed door. The handing does not need to be specified when ordering.

  5. Q Do this lock have a life time warranty answer now

Asked by Lonnie Jackson on June 8, 2021 9:37 PM

    A

This model offers a lifetime warranty on any mechanical parts and the finish of the housings. However, they offer a 3-year warranty on any electrical components.

Please see the user manual for this model using the link below!

  7. A

The preprogrammed factory default codes can be found on the original user manual that was shipped with the lock or you can locate these on a sticker that is located on the back panel of the keypad unit (the lock will need to be taken off of the door to find this).

  8. Q How do I change the code on this lock? answer now

Asked by DAVID STEVENS on February 23, 2021 5:21 PM

    A

The steps to accomplish this would depend on whether this is connected to a Z-Wave controller or not (such as Vera). If it is, you would change the code through your Z-Wave system and the changes would be sent wirelessly to the door. If you are programming the lock manually, you will want to follow the steps below to add a new code and delete the old code from the lock.

How to add a new user code:
1.) Enter your current 6-digit programming code
    2.) Press the Schlage button
3.) Press 1 on your keypad
4.) Enter your new 4-digit user code
5.) Re-enter your new 4-digit user code to confirm it

How to delete an existing user code:
1.) Enter your current 6-digit programming code
    2.) Press the Schlage button
3.) Press 2 on your keypad
4.) Enter your 4-digit user code you wish to delete
5.) Re-enter the 4-digit user code to confirm it

  9. A

For remote connectivity (programming, unlock/lock, etc.), you will need an active internet connection (wired or Wi-Fi) to be able to connect to the lock.

  10. A

The default programming codes are located on a sticker that is on the back panel of the keypad unit. The lock will need to be removed from the door to find this sticker.

How do I connect Schlage to smart things?

To pair your Schlage Connect Smart Deadbolt with Samsung SmartThings, open the SmartThings app on your mobile device and tap on Home. Under Things, choose Add a Thing and follow the directions in the app. At the end of enrollment, a green light on your lock indicates success.

Can I use Schlage connect without hub?

Because the Schlage Connect is powered by Z-wave, you need to pair it with a smart home hub, like Wink, to extend communication with your home's wi-fi. This allows you to communicate with your lock via the Wink app when you are remote.

What hubs are compatible with Schlage connect?

To access your lock remotely from your phone or with voice commands, you'll need to sync it with a compatible smart home hub. The most common hubs for the Schlage Connect lock are Samsung SmartThings, Ring Alarm, Nexia and Wink.
