It appears there services are much better than banks in the region. An colleague was telling me about this CU over 1.5 ago and I really thought he was nuts? and I visited the local branch and they reviewed my consumer credit and they offered have been pouring in non-stop, I guess because I pay back all my debts back in a zero balance. Therefore I am extremely happy with PFFCU services.

My experience has been the worst and from reading the reviews of other valued members I see they have had issues as well. My mother passed away and the end of June I called to see what I needed to do to get access to the funds in her account. This account has less than than 4000.00 I was told that I either needed a letter of administration or letter of executor. Keep in mind my mother's account is under three thousand dollars. I schedule appointment with probate Court which was in August and paid for the letter of administration. I go back to the bank and I am told that I need a copy of death certificate and a copy of the funeral bill. Have no idea how much her funeral cost was a factor in her account. I needed to deposit a check in her account to be cashed so I did. I come back to the bank for the second time now I don't need the letter of administration but I had received another check and deposited in her account. I went back to the bank after the check cleared to close the account gave them copy of death certificate and funeral receipt and letter of administration and was told I had to open up an estate account. Also that I did not need the letter of administration which I paid 281.00 for and if I just would have given them the death certificate and funeral receipts that would have been enough.. Since I gave it to them I need to open up an estate account and they want my social security number. I have to deposit 5 dollars of my money into this account get an ein number that they will fill out for you then they will put the money into the account. This is just the start I can go on.

On 8/12/2021 I called the Police and Fire Credit Union inquire about a loan application I had submitted. I spoke with an agent by the name of Vernon who told me that PFFCU does not lend money to people with questionable credit. He went on to say that back in 2018 I had an overdraft on my account and this was the reason I was not credit worthy. I asked him to elaborate because I have direct deposit and if ever my account is overdrawn my direct deposit covers the balance, which is not often. He then said it wasn't just that, I had an account in collections and they deal with Experian who determines who they are able to open a credit account for. This is clearly not the truth because PFFCU makes its own policy on credit who is worthy. Vernon (PFFCU agent) went on to call me stupid for inquiring about a loan application knowing I have bad credit. I immediately asked to speak to a supervisor as his tone and lack of respect was unacceptable. Vernon refused to put a supervisor on the phone and continued to bombard me with sarcasm and demeaning comments about my IQ. After requesting for the third time to speak with a supervisor refused and hung up on me. Backstory: I have been a customer of Police and fire for over 10 years and I have had a few ups and downs over those years but nothing that should have blacklisted me from applying for credit with my bank of 10 years. My credit score is just over 670 and I am employed. The treatment I was issued for trying to understand why they refuse to open a line of credit was completely unacceptable. There was customer appreciation or dignity was shown in this communication. While I have always felt an undertone of racism with police and fire since the BLM movement started, it was never this blatant. I would not recommend PFFCU to people of a certain demographic. For the lack of respect this bank has for the black and brown community.

They do not update every month to the credit Agency. I was told quarterly. I don’t understand why not. This holds your score back because it’s not updated When you pay your bill and trying to raise your score. You want to stay on top of it
