- Vinyl Pause & Jump Back:
(Shift+) CUE preform few actions between press and release.
* Track Tempo must be Set to '0' to successfully use this 'trick'.

  • On Pad press, creates & stores 'Hot Cue 8', and It slowly pitch down the Track to -100% tempo until it stops, it takes around 3 seconds if u do not release the CUE Pad.
  • On Pad release it jumps back to previously created 'Hot Cue 8' to start playing and deletes it.

* If 'Hot cue 8' already exists, it will jump to it on Pad press, then it will pitch down and it will start playing on Pad release
from 'Hot Cue 8', to then delete it.
* If made inside a Loop deactivates Loop on Pad release.
* Do not store a any Cue in 'Hot Cue 8' if u want this feature to work correctly.
* Scratch is not possible in the middle of this operation.
* For the complexity of the 'macro', If tapped to fast, could happen that it will not have time to create Hot Cue 8 and it will

jump to what ever previous Hot Cue is stored, if a Hot Cue is not stored it will jump to the Grid Marker, (usually at the
beginning of the Track), it will not go further than what ever previous Hot Cue is stored.
- CH Fader Volume:

* If created inside an active Loop, it stores the Loop.
* Deletes Stored Hot Cue, only if is a Cue or a Loop.
* The proper use of Hot Cue 1 requires the tweak of settings, for more information go to the '
Tweaks' section.

- AUTO LOOP:
* glitch Loop if Deck is not playing.., if the Loop is made when snap mode is on, and the 'Loop in' is 'snapped' just after the reader, the led will not light up and the Loop will not be deactivate by pressing the pads, only the size will change when pressing the pads until the reader is located inside the Loop, with the Jog W., with the mouse, or just by pressing play.
* when using this feature the Cue will be overwrite for the last 'Loop in' marker.

  • Loop size is = 1 _________ 'IN'.
  • Loop size is = 2 ________ 'OUT'.

  • Move Loop forward ____ (Shift+) 'OUT', (auto repeat only works if 'Slip' is off)
  • Size Loop /2 ______ (Shift+) 'EXIT', led on if Loop size is = 16
  • Size Loop x2 _____ (Shift+) '1/2X' , led on if Loop size is = 32

led will provide feedback. when (Shift+) it will refer only to size

- AUTO LOOP [ROLL]:
It Loops while pressing, when stop pressing it keeps playing from it where suppose to be playing if pad would not had been press (mapped with 'SLIP' feature, called in Traktor 'FLUX'). The size can be change while the 'ROLL' is press by rotating the Encoder, (Browser´s Encoder).

  • Loop size= 1/8 ________ 'IN'.
  • Loop size= 1/4 _______ 'OUT'.
  • Loop size= 1/2 ______ 'EXIT'.
  • Loop size= 1 _______ '1/2X'.

led will be on, when not pressing, if 1 of the 4 Pads is press they will flash in Beat Phase.

* (Shift+) 'IN' _______ Not mapped.
* (Shift+) 'OUT' _____ Not mapped.
* (Shift+) 'EXIT' _____ Not mapped.
* (Shift+) '1/2X' _____ Not mapped.

*Press one of the 4 pads, while not releasing the firs Pad, is possible to chain it with the other 3 pads, once a pad is release, the Loop goes inactive, (not like in Serato, where u can keep chaining the pads for ever).. anyways, is possible to change the size of the 'ROLL' by operating the encoder of the browser while 1 of the 4 Pads is press.
* when using this feature the Cue will be overwrite for the last 'Loop in' marker created for the last 'ROLL' press.
* when 'ROLL' is in use is possible to Scratch or bend the 'ROLL'. (very cool)

* when Using 'ROLL' feature the 'SLIP/FLUX 'will end up always turned on.

- MANUAL LOOP:

  • Set 'Loop in' ________ 'IN' (If Loop is not active).
  • Set 'Loop out' ______ 'OUT' (If Loop is not active).

- If Loop is active, but there is not a Loop, Set 'Loop out' makes Loop not active the first time is press, the second time it will set the 'Loop out'. :-/

(This could happen if a 'Loop in' is set and the 'Loop out' is not set, and then we press 'EXIT', in this case, Exit will work as a cup and it will activate the Loop even when there is not a loop.
* 'Loop in' & 'Loop out' needs the condition 'Is In Active Loop.Deck X', this way the size can be operated in an active loop, how ever this condition can make the 'IN', 'OUT' & 'EXIT' to stop working in the SB2 if:
a)
___ if 'Loop in' & 'Loop out' are set at the exact same point.. go figure:-/
b)
___ if from inside an active Loop the Track is rewind with the Jog W., the mouse, or the 'Beat Jump' and then the 'OUT' Pad is tapped 2 times, or the OUT in Traktor is clicked 2 times with the mouse.
* Not likely to happen, but if in any case it happens the solution is (Shift+) 'Exit'. When not using the condition 'Is In Active Loop.Deck X' in Pads 'IN' & 'OUT' this issue does not happened, but then is not possible to control the size of a loop with the Jog W., maybe is just a bug of the version of Traktor that was used to create this midi map (v.2.6.8),.. go figure:-/

- Loop size using Jog W.:
If Loop is active press 'IN' or 'OUT' + 'Jog W. turn' to fine the size, or the side of the Jog W. to ultra fine the size. (fine size will only works if 'VINYL' is off, if 'VINYL' is on, it will Scratch).
* The size selector will notchange when resizing Loops with the Jog W., so if the Loop after is resized using the Jog W. is resized again using the incremental, (pads 1/2X or Shift+ 1/2X), the size will jump to the previous Loop size set before the Loop size was modified by the Jog.W.

  • Moves the Loop backwards _____ (Shift+) 'IN'
  • Moves the Loop forward _______ (Shift+) 'OUT'

* Distance of the move = Loop size
* 'auto repeat' only works if 'SLIP' is off.., go figure:-/

  • 'EXIT'

- If Deck is playing..
.. & Loop is active _______ makes Loop inactive.
(If is playing outside the Loop, it jumps back to 'Loop in' marker.)
.. & Loop is not active ___jumps back to 'Loop in' marker and activates Loop.
(If there is not a 'Loop out', it jumps back to 'Loop in' marker, (or Cue) acting as a 'CUP'.)
led on if Loop is active, if is not playing inside an active Loop in it will flash in Beat Phase.

- If Deck is not playing _______ Toggle Loop Active.

  • (Shift+) 'EXIT' ___________ Toggle Loop Active, led will report Loop state.
  • '1/2x' __________________Size 1/2, led is on if Loop size=32
  • (Shift+) '1/2x' ___________ Size x2, led is on if Loop size=32

- MANUAL LOOP (CUE LOOP):

  • Store Loop as 'next Hot Cue' _______ 'IN'(if Loop is active)

  • Jump to prev. 'Hot Cue' ______ 'OUT', (if Deck is not playing), if Deck is playing it acts as a (CUP).

*if Deck is playing & Loop is active it will not go to previous 'Hot Cue' from this Loop , (it will just 'CUP' the current 'Hot Cue'), if Deck is playing & Loop is not active´, is possible to jump to previous Hot Cue by tapping the pad.

  • Jump to Next 'Hot Cue' _______ (Shift+) 'OUT'.
  • 'EXIT' _____________________ (used for backwards playback)
  • '1/2X' _____________________ (used for backwards playback)
  • (Shift+) 'EXIT' ______________ Not mapped.
  • (Shift+) '1/2X' ______________ Not mapped.

- Fx unit (Mixer) 1 2 3 & 4:
(From each Deck)

led in 'PAD TRANS TAP' Button If (shift+).
led dime if Fx 1 or Fx 2 selected, led on if Fx 3 or Fx 4 selected.

* Led will fail to report if (Shift+) 'PAD TRANS TAP' is press. it should not be press since is not mapped, but may be press if the 'Trans Pad Fx' is goIng to be used, (if was activated by Serato first), then the command will be require to program the speed at witch the 'PAD TRANS Fx' is going to perform, so then u shall relay in the next 'way':
* Other way to know what Fx is focus in the SB2´s Fx section 1 or 2, is to always have in Fx 1 & 3 a different Fx, one single Fx, and 1 group Fx, (same for Fx 2 & 4), this way when pressing shift, still Fx will report if they are single or group by flashing the led in different ways.

(SAMPLER+), to specify what layer are the Pads going to control, the led will report correctly, but it will rapidly fade with the playing state of the playing Cells on this specific layer. (because of the Beat Phase led when on play state & the lack of conditions).

* The modifiers for Sampler Cell 'Load, Capture & Reverse' are mapped in the opposite Deck:
- if operating Remix Deck C, the opposite Deck would be Deck B or Deck D.
- if operating Remix Deck D the opposite Deck would be Deck A or Deck C.

led will provide feedback while Modifiers are press, (only to trust if the cells are not in playing state, or if they are in playing state but the Remix Deck is not playing).., (because of the Beat Phase led when on play state & the lack of conditions).
* 'Slot Play Mode' & 'Slot Trigger Type ' work on samplers just after loading them, or just after playing them, but i must insist, that the led information is not to trust in any of the 2 cases if the cells are in playing state.

The use of Hot Cue 1 require the tweak of the settings:
settings/analyze options/store 'beat marker as a Hot Cue' [uncheck])

* To learn about traktor settings i recommend u 'this awesome guide'

Facts about Traktor

Tempo vs tone: Every time a 6% of a tune's tempo is add or subtract ,the Track will move up or down one semitone. (1note)
Key Lock Feature:
In 'Scratch mode' key lock will work between -35% to +50 % (tempo adjust)
In 'Normal Mode' key lock will work between -90% to +100% (tempo adjust)

*In slow systems: using Hi quality option in 'key lock', could produce 'artifacts' in the sound when the 'key lock' is active, and there is any interaction with the 'Wave Display', using the jog w. or the mouse, this interaction could cause Traktor´s 'CPU load' indicator to go 'RED',..

The use of 'Hi quality key lock' minimizing the use of CPU, could be achieve, (depending on the system), by setting 'Mode Scratch' instead 'Mode Normal')
- Traktor does not recognize double tap, as a different command.
- When 'FLUX' is on, (SB2´s 'SLIP'), the behavior of some features will change.
_Scratching inside a Loop, will exit the Loop if Jog.W. is not released before the 'FLUX' marker cross the 'Loop out' marker.(same happens with the mouse).
_Hot Cue/Loop & beatjump will only jump while press, jumping back to 'Flux' marker on pad release.
- No Deck Tap Tempo, just Master clock TAP Tempo.
- No Vinyl Fx when stooping a Deck, it could be achieve by using an Fx, or if Tempo Range is set to 100% by moving the Tempo Fader to '0l'. (fast & smooth).
- No flashing state for led,the (on/off), can be achieve by using 'Beat Phase' or 'Levels' output, (still in booth cases the flashing state will depend from a Track running in Traktor, and if using 'Levels', it will also depend from the volume of the signal used)
_The amount of outputs that is possible to add in to a midi map seems to be huge, however, the number of'Beat Phase' outputs seems to be limited for the USB connection, the 'Beat Phase' number of outputstransmitted simultaneously could be limited by modifiers, (when the use of conditions involving the modifier will decide if the information is transmitted or not to the midi controller), but in the case of a controller like the SB2, with so many native layers the number of 'Beat Phase' outputs that can be transmitted simultaneously could be huge, in a point i had added so many 'Beat Phase' outputs, (most of them duplicated, so like this they are also working when the shift is pressed), that was needed to reassigning many of the outputs that where flashing on/off with a more humble output (no so many 'Beat Phase'). The symptoms where that if the 4 Decks where playing at the same time, the controller turned choppy, issue fixed by just changing the 'Out Port' of the map to'none'.

SB2´S PAD TRANS

Is ridiculous to map the PAD TRANS in Traktor since all 4 pads of each Deck are giving the exact same midi value..,

Also the 'PAD TRANS' feature, the 'Channel Volume' and the 'TAP' feature are related internally in the SB2. The 'PAD TRANS' will work in Traktor, (or probably in any other Dj Software), but only if activated first with Serato.
- The 'PAD TRANS' (SB2´s Fx feature) can be activated with 'Serato Intro' or 'Serato DJ', (probably with any version of 'Serato').

_ with 'Serato DJ' to just open the application is enough to activate the 'PAD TRANS', then close 'Serato DJ', do not unplug the SB2 from the computer and open Traktor. (Every time the 'PAD TRANS' is turned on, will be required to tap the tempo to make it work, (Shift+) 'PAD TRANS[TAP]', because every time that is turned off the pads will reset)
_ with 'Serato Intro' a Track with analyzed bpm must be loaded in to every Deck to activate the 'PAD TRANS', then close 'Serato Intro', do not unplug the SB2 from the computer and open Traktor. (Every time the 'PAD TRANS' is turned on, will be required to tap the tempo, (Shift+) 'PAD TRANS[TAP]', to make it work properly, because every time that is turned off the SB2 will recall the tempo of the Track used in Serato to activate the 'PAD TRANS').
Once the 'PAD TRANS' is activated in the SB2, it will work in Traktor, (and probably in any other Dj Software), if at least the 'Channel Volume' is midi mapped).

* Serato 'LOOK DOWN' PROBLEM: After plugging the 'SB2' to the computer, before opening 'Serato Intro or DJ', the secondary layers of the Performance Pad: 'HOT CUE [HOT CUE 5-8]', 'AUTO LOOP [ROLL]', 'MANUAL LOOP [CUE LOOP]', 'SAMPLER [BANK]', are accessible, but after opening 'Serato' this layers are 'lock down', and not accessible any more, is required to unplug the 'SB2' from the computer and then plug it again to make all this layers accessible again. To be able to access this secondary layers of the 'SB2' after using 'Serato' without the need of unplugging the controller from the computer, make active in Traktor´s 'Controller Manager' this..

'Fix midi map' DOWNLOAD

(This Download is already included in the Main Download at the bottom of the document)

(used 1 modifier per layer, so like this they will not interfere with each other).
Important: Import this midi map using the option in:
'Controller Manager' window import TSI import other
(if importing using the import option next to setup wizard all your settings could be lost).
- The Fix has a Glitch if Serato is not open first:
With this midi map 'Fix' active, if Traktor is open with 'frees controller state', (if 'Serato' was not opened first), is required to press (Shift+) one of the four layers in the 'SB2' before starting playing any Track.., or (Shift+) 'HOT CUE'.., or (Shift+) 'AUTO LOOP'.., or (Shift+) 'MANUAL LOOP'..or, (Shift+) 'SAMPLER'.. (in any of the Decks), the first time doing so the 'SB2' will make all led flashing like when recognizing software, what by the way will activate in the 'SB2' the led show in a Deck every time a Track is loaded)..

The Track Loading Led Show

In Serato every time a Track is loaded in to a Deck, all led of this Deck will flash chasing each other.
There is 2 ways to achieve the same behavior in Traktor, by opening Serato first, it will activate the feature in the SB2, so if u close then Serato, do not unplug the SB2 from the computer and open Traktor (or maybe in any other dj software), u still will get the led show when loading a Track in to a Deck, but remember that Serato Lock Down the Secondary layers of the Sb2.. so u still will need the 'Fix' midi map'. (if this fix midi map is active, the 'led show' will show up in traktor the first time that (Shift+) 'HOT CUE'.., or (Shift+) 'AUTO LOOP'.., or (Shift+) 'MANUAL LOOP'..or, (Shift+) 'SAMPLER' is press.. (in any of the Deck). (and after that, every time a track is loaded).

I give them some Credit, because the customer service was outstanding, they had to send me the SB2 3 times!, because of some led not working properly, what means that they had to pay for the sending of the device 5 times!, i guess that was finally Pioneer who had to pay for the broken dishes..
