Name change after citizenship interview but before oath

Can I change my name on the day of oath ceremony?

Get new name at Oath Ceremony A judge can legally change your name at your oath ceremony. Your new name will go on your Certificate of Naturalization. Once you get the documents changing your name, you can use it to change your name on other legal identity documents.

How long after the interview is the oath of Allegiance?

Generally speaking, you should receive your notice by mail within 3 – 6 weeks of your citizenship interview. After that, the oath ceremony should be scheduled within the next few weeks.

What if you missed oath ceremony?

If you cannot attend your scheduled naturalization ceremony, return the notice, Form N-445, Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony, to your local USCIS office, along with a letter requesting a new date and explaining why you cannot attend the scheduled naturalization ceremony.
