My iphone won t connect to wifi but other devices will reddit

Hi, does anyone have any tips on some diagnostics to find out why my iPhone 13 suddenly won’t get an internet connection to my eero6 network? It seems like it is connected, but nothing is getting through. It happened suddenly about 30 minutes ago and nothing I have tried has got it up and running again.

I’ve tried hard resetting the phone, resetting the eero network as well as disconnecting and reconnecting the Wi-Fi. I’ve also tried it with and without private mode. It looks like it’s connecting for a very brief time and then being thrown off.

I haven’t changed any settings on the network or the phone, the network has been pretty stable for the last few months, and all of my other connected devices seem okay.

Any tips would be gratefully received!

Routers last anywhere from 1-4 years. The radios just burn out slowly and gradually get crappier. Sometimes you just need to bin it and get something better. Buy a good one!

If you have a big house, run ethernet and put a wifi hotspot at each end. Never do this with wifi repeater mode, that rebroadcasts and eats half of your bandwidth. Vinyl siding outside of your house is the perfect cable raceway. If your 2 routers have adjustable power try turning it down, not up. Less interference and the radios will last longer. Super powered wifi routers that tout high output power are often counterproductive. Small low power radios and more access points is better.

Never ever install 2 routers in router mode. One needs to be a passive switch and the first one in line is your actual router. This can be configured in the router settings. Google a how to for this.

Set 2 different hotspots. One at 5.0ghz and one at 2.4. Label them. 2.4 has better range, 5 gets better speed closer to the hotspot. Try both frequencies and experiment.

Got any wifi security cameras? Hard wire them. Cameras, especially cheap cameras are total wifi hogs and are basically wifi jammers. If your neighbours have them offer to help them run ethernet cable. Some of the very new ones are wifi only and this is a foolish idea. You could run cameras on 2.4 and devices on 5.0.

Sometimes crappy wifi is a dying radio in your handheld device and not the router. Take your device elsewhere and try it. Sometimes it is interference nearby.

ETA: RESOLVED!!! Thanks Hippo, neox and bindersfullofwomen for the quick and helpful replies. I couldn't pick one so all three of you get gold for a month!

Hey guys, I have an iPhone 6 that I jailbroke months ago when it was first released for 8.1 by Pangu. I'm on iOS 8.1, my iPhone is a 7,2; and I have Cydia 1.1.16.

At first my Wifi worked, but a couple of months ago it stopped connecting. When I try to connect to a network it just says "joining" at the top and all the buttons grey out. From there nothing happens, it never connects. My 4G works fine. I've tried connecting to 8-10 different wifi networks (home, work, friends etc) and every single one does the same thing. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling each tweak individually to see if that helps with no luck. Is there anything I can do besides rejailbreaking? If I have to rejailbreak what's the best way to do this? Can I restore my phone without updating to the latest iOS version and just reuse pangu?

Best answer gets gold for a month. Thanks so much for the help in advance, and sorry for the rant. here's a screenshot of what it looks like when i try to connect. It never gives me any errors just stays there until I close out of it..
