Mrs robinos diners drive ins and dives

Doesn’t it feel like eons ago when celebrity chef Guy Fieri was seen cruising around Wilmington in his red Chevy Camaro SS, filming his latest season of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives”? Now on season 30, the popular Food Network show is finally broadcasting the episodes that were filmed when Fieri was in town back in February. And the cool thing is, all of the restaurant visits aren’t jammed into one 30-minute episode.

On Friday, May 24, if you weren’t stuck in traffic heading to the beach, you may have caught the episode titled “A World of Barbecue.” On it he featured some restaurants in California and Hawaii, but it ended with a trip to Locale BBQ Post, a cozy eatery located on the outskirts of Little Italy. There, chef and owner Dan Sheridan made the restaurant’s famous chicken salad sandwich and its meaty smokehouse chili.

Sheridan is also one of the owners Stitch House Brewery, located in downtown Wilmington.

The next episode of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” will air Friday, May 31 (and Saturday, June 1 at midnight for you night owls). This episode, titled “Sausage, Shawarma and Scaloppini” features Fieri​ starting at a “funky little Italian joint in Wilmington, Del., serving outrageous arancini and veal scaloppini.” This can only mean one thing: Luigi Vitrone’s Pastabilities. But, word on the street has it that Fieri did also visit Mrs. Robino’s when he was in town.

Set your DVR for episode four, “British, Hawaiian and Mexican,” which airs Friday, June 14 at 9 p.m. (and June 15 at midnight). The show will feature Fieri’s trip to Stoney’s Pub on 202, the quaint British tavern known for its authentic and hearty grub.

Still no word yet on when the other restaurants he visited will be featured, which include Maiale Deli and Salumeria and Farmer & the Cow.

Guy Fieri—the platinum blonde host of “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives”—kicked off his 30th season of the popular show featuring a few of the Wilmington eateries he visited back in February. Viewers finally got a chance to see what Fieri chowed down on at Locale BBQ Post, Luigi Vitrone’s Pastabilities and Stoney’s Pub.

But we knew that red Chevy Camaro SS made more stops while cruising around the First State, so we’ve been wondering when the other eateries would make their debut.

The Food Network has announced that Farmer & the Cow—the hip new burger joint on Market Street—will be featured on Friday, July 5th’s episode titled ‘Crazy Chicken and Twisted Burgers.’ The network refers to Farmer & the Cow as “a bourbon bar that’s piling pork onto a patty and doctoring up chicken skins.”

On Friday, July 12, tune in to catch Maiale Deli and Salumeria star on the episode titled ‘International Infusion,’ where “Fieri’s grabbing grub infused with international flavors. There’s a meaty spot in Wilmington, Delaware, putting Thai into sausage and Cuban into sandwiches.”

And last but not least, Mrs. Robino’s—the old-school Italian joint that’s been around since 1940—will appear on episode eight, titled ‘Beef Bonanza.’ The celebrity chef teases that he gets to sample the restaurant’s beef Braciole and meaty ravioli—yum. The episode airs on Friday, July 26.
