Killer klowns from outer space halloween horror nights

Experience one of the age old fears at Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights this year - Killer Klowns from Outer Space are coming…

Clowns. They're one of the most common fears that people have, and this year, Universal Orlando Resort is placing a terrifying twist on the classic image. ‘Killer Klowns from Outer Space’ is the latest maze to be announced for Halloween Horror Nights 2019, taking place this autumn.

The crazed clowns have been a feature of the annual event in Orlando before, and are returning once again to wreak havoc and terrify guests.

The all-new chilling mazes will feature more twisted scenes and ghastly gags from the popular MGM horror sci-fi film: Killer Klowns from Outer Space, a 1980’s cult favourite.

Scenes will transport visitors to the sleepy small town of Crescent Cove, which has been taken over by a pack of murderous clown-like creatures. Be lured by the sweet smell of cotton candy and ice-cream, and find yourself in an otherworldly circus tent where you’ll come face-to-face with the sinister klowns. You’ll never think of those sweet treats in the same way again!

As guests make their way through the Big Top Space-Ship, they’ll witness klowns making cotton candy cocoons from unsuspecting victims. You may even become their next gooey snack…

As you pass from one shrieking klown to the next, going through the doomed community of Crescent Cove, you’ll finally end up in an eerie amusement park that is closed for the season. The maze leaves you trapped in a terrifying funhouse full of killer klowns - and there’s no stopping this twisted three-ring circus.

The latest maze announcement joins a host of other attractions already announced for the annual Halloween event. Other mazes include Netflix’s Stranger Things, Yeti: Terror of the Yukon, and Ghosbusters, among others.

The event returns to Universal Orlando Resort on Friday September 6. Further details and the remaining attractions will be announced soon.

Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights event has confirmed this week that the Killer Klowns From Outer Space will return to their Hollywood event, and they've announced they're back with a great short film. This marks the second time that the cult horror movie from Chiodo brothers has been present at the Los Angeles attraction, having previously appeared during the 2019 event among their many haunted "mazes." You can check out the new Killer Klowns-themed ad for Halloween Horror nights below along with new details on this year's version of the maze based on the film.

Universal's official website describes this year's Killer Klowns attraction as follows: "If ever there's a reason why people are afraid of clowns, this is it. The Killer Klowns from Outer Space have landed. And the joke's on you if you let you and your scream squad end up as gooey, out of this world snacks in the Klowns' cotton candy cocoons. These Killer Klowns won't have you screaming with laughter – just screaming."

The Killer Klowns join a stacked roster of mazes for this year's event in Hollywood which also includes: Universal Monsters: Legends Collide, an epic battle between The Wolf Man, Dracula and The Mummy; Halloween, an adaptation of John Carpenter's classic 1978 horror film; The Horrors of Blumhouse, bringing together the most terrifying moments of Freaky and The Black Phone; The Weeknd: After Hours Nightmare, a surreal living nightmare from The Weeknd's After Hours videos; La Llorona: The Weeping Woman, the tale of the woman who drowned her children and then herself; Scarecrow: The Reaping, an abandoned Depression-era farm where scarecrows are avenging the ravaged land; and Universal Horror Hotel, a1920s Hollywood hotel, once the hunting ground of its infamous serial killer owner, has been turned into a modern-day haunted hotel.

Fans of the 1988 horror film have frequently longed for a sequel, and one almost got made a few years ago. "There was a deal… MGM controls the rights… and they went to SYFY," director Stephen Chiodo previously shared with the Slasher Radio podcast. "They did Critters, and you saw what that turned out to be like. But they wanted to do Klowns for like two million [dollars]. And we don't want to do that… we did it for two million back in the '80s. So we didn't want to do it. And even MGM didn't want to do it… they said it was a more valuable property than just signing off for that little money."

In the time since then, MGM and all its properties have been purchased by Amazon. Perhaps it can only be a matter of time before the streamer does something with Jump, Shorty, and Rudy, right?

Is Killer Klowns from Outer Space supposed to be scary?

Several intentionally goofy jumpscares happen in the film. Only 2 of them are actually scary. The Klowns themselves, although comical in appearance, look very creepy and grotesque.

Is Killer Klowns from Outer Space a parody?

Killer Klowns from Outer Space uses elements of monster and zombie movies to create an absurd parody of the type of horror popular in the 1980s. Killer Klowns from Outer Space, released in 1988, is the satirical culmination of the fixation that 1980s horror filmmakers had on the B-movie cinema of the 1950s.

Will there be a new Killer Klowns from Outer Space?

Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X in early 2023.

What houses will be at HHN 2022?
