Recently, I’ve noticed dark spots have been showing up on my face. They are sprinkled here and there, and will likely take over if something is not done now! Given the opportunity to try out Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective™Dark Spot Solution serum ($49.50), I jumped on it! According to Kiehl’s, “The Clearly Corrective™ formula includes high (yet safe) concentrations of Activated C, an ingredient that acts quickly to even skin tone and break apart existing dark spots and discolorations. It contains a potent blend of botanical ingredients, such as White Birch to enhance clarity and luminosity as well as Peony to help prevent future dark spots and discolorations. These ingredients work to effectively reduce pigmentation without the irritation associated with prescription treatments.” Kiehl’s claims that results should be visible within two weeks of use, so I quickly got down to business. I washed my face and prepared for the first application. The solution is a clear liquid housed in a small bottle with a dropper. The instructions don’t specify how much to apply, so I started out with a few drops. It has a very floral scent, which made me think of the aforementioned White Birch and Peony. Before:  After: The solution spread easily and was quickly absorbed into the skin. I applied it all over, not just on areas with spots, like my hands, which are also starting to see light spots. For two weeks I applied twice a day as instructed. Note that though this product does not cause sun sensitivity, which is a rare find in a lightening treatment, Kiehl’s recommends using a daily sunscreen to maintain a clarified, even skin tone. After two weeks of regular use, I can’t say for sure that the spots have gotten any lighter. It seems as though my whole face may have gotten a bit lighter, slightly luminous even. That may mean that the spots have actually gotten lighter, but it’s hard to tell because everything has lightened up all around. It could also be that I am not using enough of the solution. As mentioned previously, there are no instructions on how much to use. Or, it could just be the power of suggestion. Either way, I am not discouraged. Kiehl’s strongly advises using the solution regularly for 12 weeks in order to experience the full spectrum of benefits. I will continue its use with hopes of garnering more visible results by the end of that time period. Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot SolutionBy Manveetha MopuruHello Lovelies, I am back with another review and this is from one of my favorite brands. Today, I’m going to review the Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution that I had purchased around a month ago. As I’ve mentioned earlier, I am in my early 20’s and have combination-oily (i.e. very oily at my T-Zone) skin that is very sensitive and acne-prone. My breakouts are mostly hormonal, but I also get them if I binge on junk food. 🙁 I have fair skin, so when my pimples leave any scars, they are very prominent. I also had a few pitted scars that are red in appearance. Kiehl’s is known to be a cult-classic brand, so I decided to try their Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution for my acne-scars and super-mild hyperpigmentation. Claims: A fast-acting serum that diminishes dark spots and visibly evens skin tone. Helps to prevent the formation of future dark spots and other skin discolorations with continued daily usage. Silicone-free, paraben-free, fragrance-free. No colorants and no optical diffusers. Directions: Apply morning and night, before your moisturizer. May be used as a spot treatment or over entire face. May also be used to correct visible discolorations on hands, neck and chest. Price: 3800 INR. Quantity: 30 ml. Ingredients: Aqua/Water, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat, PEG/PPG/Polybutylene Glycol-8/5/3 Glycerin, Hydroxypropyl Tetrahydropyrantriol, 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, PPG-6-Decyltetradeceth-30, Phenoxyethanol, Salicylic Acid, Xanthan Gum, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Potassium Hydroxide, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Lavandula Angustifolia Oil/Lavender Oil, Disodium EDTA, Linalool, Citrus Tachibana/Citrus Aurantium Tachibana Peel Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Extract/Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract. Kiehl’s is not available in Hyderabad (It is only available in Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai & Chandigarh), so I had to get this product through courier. However, they only courier their products to you if an order is placed for 4000 INR or more. You can place an order by calling them on their ‘Kiehl’s on Wheels’ numbers. I’ve been using this product for a month and this is my take on it! My Experience with Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution:The Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution is packed in a glass bottle with a dropper lid. The bottle does look fragile and I had also read that it breaks if you drop it by accident. You have to squeeze the lid of the dropper and deposit some of the solution on your hands to use it. The product is a clear liquid with a little gel-like consistency. It contains Activated C and I’m guessing that is Vitamin C – great for lightening scars. The product is Silicone-free, paraben-free, and fragrance-free, so it’s good for sensitive skin-types. I apply this everyday, all over my face, after using any targeted treatments. I use exactly 2 drops spread it on my fingers and gently pat the product into my skin. This helps my skin absorb the product better. This takes about a minute to dry so I use eye cream while this dries, then follow up with the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. In the morning, I follow up with a moisturizer with SPF. The first week, I noticed that my skin was brighter over all (like I’d used an awesome fairness cream), the slight sun damage that I had was really gone. But that’s just about it. I did not see any noticeable lightening in my scars. The second week, my recent and mild scars had lightened pretty well. After 3 weeks, I started noticing an actual change. My deep red scars were lightening enough to use very little concealer or even look fine with just foundation (my foundation has great coverage!) 🙂 I made it a point to use SPF with this product for best results. This product is NOT an over-night miracle. It works gradually, but effectively. Use it religiously; am and pm along with proper sun protection and you will see results. Though some products are over-night miracles, most skincare products take 4-6 weeks to actually show results. I am positive that my scars will fade completely if I use this for another month. I know that 3500 INR is a huge price to pay for 30 ml, but trust me when I say a little goes a long way! You literally need no more than 2-3 drops for your entire face. I haven’t even finished 1/4th of the bottle after using it for a month. It will probably last me 6 months or more. So the product is worth the investment for me! The dropper allows the product to be deposited in a hygienic manner, so that’s a big plus for me! The solution dries clear on application so you can apply any makeup etc. over it. It does not hinder with your targeted treatments, so use it over them if you wish to! This product did not break me out, it did not irritate my skin and it did not cause any sort of bad reaction. I’ve also read that it is suitable for all skin types. I’m really enjoying using this in my skin care routine, especially with the Midnight Recovery Concentrate – I feel like they work better together. 🙂 Pros of Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution:

As I said, this is no miracle product. If you’re willing to work patiently towards reducing your scars, this product is great! IMBB Rating: I rate this product a 4.2/ 5.
