I purchased the John Frieda Violet Crush for blondes purple conditioner from the Rewards Room as this is one product that I usually use on my fine blonde hair. My hair is naturally blonde but with grey coming through and as a result I do home colouring to cover the grey. It is important to use a good purple shampoo and conditioner to help assist in ensuring the hair does not get brassy and I have found this product is something that certainly helps. After using the shampoo and rinsing my hair thoroughly I apply a generous quantity of conditioner to the ends of my long hair, combing it through carefully then I add a bit more to the crown and comb that through, ensuring all my hair has been conditioned. I thoroughly rinse the hair and it is left lovely and soft.

I have highlights put in my dark blonde hair every few months, and they can start to look a bit brassy after a while. I like to use the John Frieda purple shampoos and conditioners to counteract the brassy tones. The product is pale mauve and has a pleasant scent which lingers in the hair. This conditioner is easy to use; it comes in a tube with a flip top lid and is then applied to the hair, left on for a few minutes then rinsed out. It leaves my hair soft and shiny, and removes any brassy tones. I have repurchased this product several times and will continue to do so.

I received a tube of John Frieda Sheer Blonde® Colour Renew Tone-Correcting Conditioner at the recent Best in Beauty Marketplace. I have used a number of John Frieda products but I hadn’t used this particular one. I have salon colour treated hair and have been using purple shampoos and conditioners for blonde hair for years. My hair is different shades of blonde so it is important to me to use products to eliminate any brassiness. The John Frieda Sheer Blonde® Colour Renew Tone-Correcting Conditioner is packaged in a light purple and pearly-white, plastic tube with a flat, pearly coloured flip-top lid which makes it easy to store in the shower, and it holds 250ml of product. The conditioner is a soft shade of lavender and has a thick, rich, creamy consistency. The fragrance is beautiful – maybe floral – and I find it quite calming. I have short hair so I don’t need too much conditioner to smooth over and through my hair. I generally give my head a nice massage and leave the conditioner in my hair for a couple of minutes before thoroughly rinsing it out. My hair is left feeling and looking silky smooth and healthy, and is also tangle free. After I’ve towel squeezed the water from my hair I apply styling products before blow drying my hair. I noticed on the first occasion after using this conditioner in conjunction with the John Frieda Violet Crush Purple Shampoo for Blondes that my hair was a much cooler, brighter blonde with no hint of brassiness whatsoever. I find this conditioner hydrates and nourishes my hair and helps reduce colour fading which is so important in salon treated blonde hair which can look quite dull if not maintained properly.

I received this product at the BIB event. Prior to receiving this product I had used the Fanola purple shampoo which definitely reduced how brassy my hair was, but it also made my hair like straw. This conditioner used in conjunction with their purple shampoo I found was very effective without drying out my hair. My hands also didnt stain like other purple shampoos which was great! I found my brassiness reduced but not as much as it did using fanola. However I definitely prefer this product due to its moisturising factor, I found it gentle.enough to use everyday.

was lucky enough to get this also from the BIB event 2019. As with the shampoo I’ve never used a "purple" colour correcting product. This comes in a flip top (bottom) tube. It is a lavender colour and it smells nice. You don't need alot at all and be careful to really rinse it out. After using once with the shampoo, I could really see the "blonde" come back and that brassiness gone. I was asked if I had my hair done so others must have noticed it as well. The only thing I don't like about it is because my hair is oily it makes it even oily I have to wash my hair the next day with my standard shampoo/conditioner I can skip a day but with this I do need to wash again the following day.

Tips

Really rinse well so hair is not oily.

Does purple conditioner make a difference?

According to Kell and Brown, a purple conditioner will have the same effect as the shampoo, and using both may actually dry out your hair, Kell adds. Plus, purple shampoo will immediately tone your hair after a wash, so doubling purple hair products is unnecessary.

How long can I leave purple conditioner in my hair?

Unless you have white hair or gray hair, you shouldn't leave the purple shampoo on for longer than 15 minutes at a time. If you're already leaving the shampoo on for less than 15 minutes and you're noticing a purple tone, then try leaving the product on for even less time.

How often should you use purple conditioner?

2. How should I use purple conditioner? For best results, use a purple conditioner after rinsing with your purple shampoo. You may want to wash hair with your purple system twice to thrice a week, depending on your blonde level.

Can you leave purple conditioner on too long?

If you leave purple shampoo on for too long, you may find yourself with a little lilac hue. This color is not permanent and is more likely to happen if you have very light blonde hair or if your hair is dry and damaged.
