|What Does the P0010 Code Mean? The Camshaft Position (CMP) actuator is attached to each camshaft and is hydraulically operated in order to change the angle of the camshaft relative to the Crankshaft Position (CKP). The CMP actuator solenoid is controlled by the control module. The control module sends a pulse width modulated 12-volt signal to a CMP actuator solenoid. The solenoid controls the amount of engine oil flow to a CMP actuator. The CMP actuator can change the camshaft angle to a maximum of 25 degrees. The control module increases the pulse width to accomplish the desired camshaft operation. Intake Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Control Circuit|Code P0010 Information for Specific Makes

What is an intake camshaft position actuator solenoid valve control circuit? The camshaft position actuator solenoid valve controls the oil flow to the actuator, which in turn, advances or retards the camshaft. Solenoid operation is controlled by the car's primary computer, also known as the powertrain control module or PCM.
Can you drive with a P0020 code?Diagnosis: This trouble code will not prevent your vehicle from running.
How serious is a P0010 code?A P0010 code is moderately severe. Whilst it will not prevent your vehicle from running, you will experience a decrease in power, an increase in fuel consumption and ultimately, your car will fail a future emissions test.
