Most Oculus-compatible cables only go to 16 ft/5 meters, including the official one. When I saw this used an inline booster to go to 20 feet,Running the Oculus USB Test on this cable, I got varying results. The first time I run it, I consistenly get 750ish Mbps and a note telling me that's too slow. So I run it again, and it's 1.2, which is fine. And I run it again, and it's 1.7 or 1.8Gbps, which is even better. That happens fairly consistently and is apparently not uncommon with other cables, too. So don't give up if it fails the first time -- try another port or simply try the test again. Also, the photo shows this cable coiled, and mine came in a flat box, doubled back on itsself with a 180-degreet zig-zag pattern. I prefer coiled cables so I'll be trying to retrain this cable's memory so it is less prone to kinks or breaks from those hard angles.

These are decent, but they won't charge the Quest 2 as you are playing it, you have to stop after a couple hours. Need a three way cable that can connect to the PC and charge from the wall.

To start off ill get this out of the way: The transfer rate is amazing!
long cable + amazing transfer rate is great for VR related things, however it's charge rate is second best, at most it will let you play for 4-5 (total of 8-10 hours for the Quest 2) more hours. I've tried charging it separately in different ports, adapters etc, as well as with different devices other then the quest 2, now I may have gotten a faulty cord if it's only the charge rate being effected, or this may be a general issue, I wouldn't know, otherwise the cord is great, if you don't plan on playing more then 9 hours at a time for VR, or or don't mind waiting slightly longer for a charge, with the upside of amazing transfer speeds for data, then by all means this cord is worth it.
Review of Everything I said in short:
Cord looks nice, is durable, very long, "okay" charge rate, amazing data transfer speed, had no hiccups whatsoever when running vr games.
I have a high end pc so take that last part with a grain of salt if it doesn't work as well for you

Works great for playing oculus quest 2 with steam vr games. Does not charge your headset.

Honestly, the officially branded cord is probably great. However, I am not spending an additional $80 to use a feature that should have been considered when they boxed these up.

The cord communicates very well and I have had no hiccups using it.
Once you get it set up and figure out the configuration youre after, thats it.

Super smooth, and the length leaves you plenty of room for standard VR setup.

This is the best cable so far for use with Oculus Quest 2. I get constant 2.2 GBps connection on a USB 3.0/3.1 port. I like that you do not need a power source for the repeater/relay portion of the cable. Some complained about varying data rates, and that's because some mainboards in the computer aren't using quality USB 3.0/3.1 chip-sets. I had that issue until I added a PCIe USB 3.0/3.1 card in my PC and I get consistent 2.2 GBps connections, sometimes 2.8 GBps.
For those that are getting lower connection speeds, it may be that need to upgrade your USB with an add on card.

This is a great cable and has held up very well so far. I ended up buying some Velcro straps in order to make it fit snug against the headset. I'd recommend everyone who is getting this cable to do the same.

I like that it has the braided material on the outside and I haven't had a problem with them yet.

1.0 out of 5 stars It worked and then it didn't?

I've had this cable for a little over a week now, and the first time I took it out of the box and put it to use the experience was amazing! The Oculus Link clarity was significantly better than the experience I was having with Virtual Desktop prior. However, on only my third use of the cable, the PC will not detect the Quest 2 as being connected. Additionally, the light on the cable amplifier no longer turns on, so I believe that this issue is being caused by the amplifier. The cable still functions to charge, but no longer works for a data feed which was what I purchased it for. If the cable still functioned as it was on my first use this would be an easy 5 star, however, considering it broke in 1 week I am very disappointed. I'll also add that I treated the cable very gently, and there are no visual indicators of the cable being damage aside from the amplifier light no longer working.

Best cable for linking. That extra length compared to most make all the difference in the world. I got alot of extra length so if i do get caught on the cable my laptop is not going anywhere. I added an extra velcro to the back of the headset just to remove more movement and tension from the cable connector on the quest. Im paranoid. The cable doesnt collect dirt like the rubber ones and it's light as hell. Way better experience. Its easy to coil up as well because you can almost form it a little. Great product and would suggest everyone who links to get one.

1.0 out of 5 stars straight up bad

its a usb to usb c which makes my games stutter every once and a while. but even worse every so often completely out of the blue it decides to distort the view in my headset causing motion sickness and making any game completely unplayable, the only way to fix it after it happens is to turn my quest fully off and back on, which forces me out of my games, this is really annoying as if it happens on a story based game with saves I have to get sick until i can find a save point. this has been a horrible experience and wouldnt recommend to my worst enemy

Only works for my quest 2 when I use a usb C adaptor (so it's USB C on both ends), and plug it into the type C port on my computer. Using it as it is I can't get a stable connection for more than. A couple of seconds. Seems fine with the adaptor though, nice and long - but I'm not sure it's particularly high speed.

2.0 out of 5 stars Unfortunately I must have gotten a lemon

It seems a few people have had a decent experience with this. But it I got unlucky, the cable simply will not work with my quest 2. The light on the signal booster will turn on and off constantly. But when I try it on my phone, just for charging, it's totally fine. I thought maybe it was my quest so I tried a different not so good cable and it worked, just not good. This leads me to believe that at a higher bitrate the signal booster is failing and causing it to disconnect. the whole thing seems durable enough, But I feel I may have just gotten a faulty product, Otherwise I think it would have been great :(

Select System and scroll down to Quest Link..
Download the PC app and click Download Software below Link Cable and Air Link..
Open the desktop app on your PC..
Turn on your headset..
Plug your USB 3 cable into a USB 3.0 port on your PC, then plug the other end into your headset..
- Restart the headset (long press power button, select Restart), then the PC. Also try reversing the order of restarts. - Unplug and replug the cable from the back of the PC, not from the front of the headset (sounds weird but on my system it matters which end of the cable you re-plug).

How do I connect Quest 2 to my computer?

Once you've turned Air Link on in your Quest 2 headset, go back to your main Settings and open the new Air Link option to see a list of nearby PCs. Press your PC and check to see if the code on your headset and PC screen match up. If they do, slip the headset back on and hit "Confirm" to finish pairing the devices.
