The obvious way to prevent your butt from burning after eating spicy foods is just to cut spicy food altogether. However, some of us do not want to do this.

There are a few things you could do.

You could cut out foods that are both heated and fatty, as too much fat can actually irritate the skin around your burning ring of fire, and make it burn even more!

However, if you absolutely love spicy foods you could just… eat more of it. It will make you poop more, and it will hurt for a while, but constantly eating spicy foods will eventually desensitize your butt to it.

If you do not want to try either of my other suggestions you could simply resort to cleaning your butt, this means you could apply a soothing cream to your pained rear end (while it’s clean!).

This is not a long-term fix, and if you want your butt to be more painless, then you should probably resort to one of the other suggestions, or you could just plow through the pain.

There is no supernatural fix to having a fiery bum from a spicy diet.

How Long Does It Take For My Poop To Stop Burning After Eating Spicy Food?

Generally, once you have eaten spicy food it will take around 30 hours or so for it to totally pass through your system. However, if you do get diarrhea from eating spicy food it may pass faster, as there will be… more of it.

However, this is not scientifically proven.

But, the average time is 30 hours.

How Do You Prevent Getting Diarrhea From Spicy Foods?

Is it normal to have burning poop after eating spicy food? Yes. Is it normal to get diarrhea? More than you might think.

If you do get spicy diarrhea then you might want to try consuming some dairy (or dairy-free alternatives for vegans) with your spicy food, or just after, it will usually take away the burning.

You might also want to try eating something sweet as it may minimize the burning, or get some wipes.

That being said, there is no way to stop spicy diarrhea, aside from simply not eating those foods anymore.

Why Does Spicy Food Make You Shit Painfully?

A majority of spicy food will contain capsaicin which will make the food hot and is what causes the Scoville ratings for chilis.

The more capsaicin there is in a food, the hotter it will be. Then whenever you eat something that contains capsaicin this will bind to a pain receptor, the same receptor that lets your brain know when you burn yourself.

Your anus and your mouth have the same type of skin, and both have these pain receptors that let you know when you have consumed capsaicin. So, your ring of fire is actually just like the fiery taste when you consume the spice.

The best thing you can do after eating spicy food and having a burning bum is to keep your bum clean and dry, as much as you can. You can also use wipes to remove any of the burnings, but always ensure you dry afterward.

You could also just incorporate more heat into your diet, so while it may burn for a while, your body will grow used to it eventually.

How can you actually use this? Well, while it may hurt for a while, our bodies are machines and eventually, it will just get used to it.

Why Does Spicy Food Make You Poop Burn

Spicy bum after spicy food is all down to capsaicin. Our bodies can digest capsaicin but whatever is not absorbed into the body will come out into the toilet bowl.

This is why it hurts so much. Your rear has the same pain receptors as your mouth, and so, it is like you’re experiencing the spice all over again, just through a different orifice, and without the nice taste.
