A torchbearer for scotch whisky, this tangles creaminess with peat smoke, mixes toffee with vanilla, tumbles raisin with fig, and integrates smoke with fresh citrus and red apple. Creamy caramels with soft toffee drizzled over marmalade, vanilla sweetness balanced with a little oak, and layers of raisin, Braeburn apple, and sultana, permeated with smoke. It turns out that the liquid inside the world’s most recognizable whisky bottle is exceedingly good.

Im Duft typische, etwas hefige Fruchtnoten, dazu Honig und trockenes Gras, von einer guten Torfnote unterlegt. Am Gaumen Kaffee, dazu gesalzene Butter und weiche Karamellnoten. Gute komplexität im rauchigen Abgang.

Eine deutliche Torfnote, dazu Kaffee und geröstete Gerste ergeben kräftige Duftnoten. Am Gaumen eine maskuline Struktur, die von feiner Hintergrundsüße unterstützt wird. Gut komponiert mit rauchigem Finale.

This deep amber spirit, a blend of over 40 whiskies, has a sweet, deeply caramel scent, with a tinge of dried fruit. The flavor is oaky, smoky and dry; a little ice water mellows it nicely and coaxes out some burnt-caramel and raisiny notes. Lingering, moderately smoky finish.

The opening aromas are firm, mature and biscuity; seven minutes in the copita allow this lovely blend to accentuate the subtle, sea breeze-like, saltine-like virtues even more. Palate entry is peaty and oily; by midpalate, the island/salty/baked bread influence of Talisker is undeniable. Finishes with a kiss of dark caramel.
