What’s the best route from Dallas to South Padre Island?
I really want to visit South Padre Island, and I’m thinking about renting a car to drive there for a couple of days while I’m in Dallas next month. What route should I take?
The best route from Dallas to South Padre Island is via I-35 S. You’ll use I-35 E to reach I-35 S, then transfer to I-37 S before finally exiting onto US-77 S.
The drive will require about eight hours and 20 minutes of driving, however, so you should plan a full day for travel each way when planning your trip. Make sure to stop and rest along the way, too, since eight hours is a long time to be driving alone!
If you start to get tired along the way, pull over. It’s always better to travel for a long time than it is to get into an accident!
While you’re preparing for this trip, take a moment to learn more about your own car insurance options. Check out the Jerry app, where you can see a list of policy quotes that work for you in minutes. The average user saves over $800 per year.
