One credit card payments need to be made by 8:00 PM ET, Monday-Saturday in order to post the next day. It is a good rule of thumb for any credit card to not wait until the due date to make your payment. Deciding where to pay your Capital One credit card bill in person depends on how strapped you are for time. If you’re not paying your bill at a Capital One Bank location, you might also have to pay a fee. But that will certainly beat triggering a late payment fee. No matter where you choose to pay your bill, make sure to bring the proper information, identification and form of payment needed. Maria Adams, Credit Cards Moderator

Actually, PayNearMe no longer seems to be an option to pay Capital One Credit Cards, at least as of Oct. 2019. Unfortunately, found this out the hard way after 10 hours on the phone with both PayNearMe & Capital One. Ugh!!! ;< Capital One is great with some things, but giving you correct & current info. about payment options is most certainly NOT one of them!!! Also, make sure to triple check any info. you get from them about anything… They gave me massively incorrect info./details/directions for 5 out of the 6 payment options I have looked into with them, not including past problems I have had with adding new debit cards to their online system and making cash deposits at their ATM’s with my Capital checking account. I was utterly gobsmacked because I have never had a company make it sooo hard to give them money!!! But, then I remembered how much $$$ they have been able to swindle me out of in late fees because of it, and guess it makes sense to them… Terribly deceitful & shady business practice in my opinion. It’s a shame because I actually used to think quite highly of them, and really liked the company & service until fairly recently. ;(
Just trying to pay it forward, information-wise, and hope that others won’t have to go through all the same things I have!

I have gone to Fred Meyers to pay and once it worked and the second time they had no idea what I was talking about. I have been to Target and tried to pay via the Cap1 machine- it did not work and no one knew what to do. I have been to a grocery store a Cap1 rep told me to go to, the person I spoke to seemed to not know what a credit card was. Which leaves me with a bar(ain’t gonna happen), a coffee shop that’s only open half a day, and Walmart. Personally, I think Cap1 is probably being scammed by places that say they will take the payments and for some reason are, well, lying. This is probably in some way related to the reason why Cap1 will not take Paypal they just don’t realize every place else is scamming them. I’ve been told now Walmart will take my payment. I’m not holding my breath on that one.
