HELLO

I took these tests yesterday; all Equate brand. After reading online and watching YouTube vids, I am still so uncertain. When I took each of these tests, I did so accurately. With a timer, morning urine...

I do know that these are not "evap lines". For one, the lines appeared immediately while testing; within two minutes. I have also found a very good thread by a valid clinician about the whole debate of evap  lines and "false positives". Here is the link https://forum.madeformums.com/pregnancy/160517-confusing-pregnancy-test-result-help.html

My concern is that there is so much debate about the accuracy of these tests; equate specifically. What are the chances that all of these would look the same? I also took an .88 cent one and it had a very very faint line.

Any ideas, or anyone who has had POSITIVE EQUATE RESULTS?

You want to know now, so we understand your frustration. You want to see a big fat positive if you’re pregnant. So, when you see the faint blue line on Equate Pregnancy Test, you wonder what to think.

If you properly performed your pregnancy test, a faint line in the “Result” section of your test means that you’re pregnant. Of course, to confirm your accurate result, you also need to see a line in the “Control” section of your test.

If you read your Equate Early Result Pregnancy Test instructions, you’ll see the following information:

One blue line in the oval Control Window and one blue line in the round result window [is a positive result for pregnancy]…

One blue line might be lighter in color than the other.

You’ll also see the following clarification of your test result:

For your result to be “Pregnant,” the line in the round Result window must run in the same direction as the line in the oval Control window and be of a similar width…

If you read the directions that came with your Equate One Step Pregnancy Test, you’ll see the following explanation of your positive result:

One blue line in the oval Control Window and a plus sign[is a positive result]…

One blue line might be lighter in color than the other.

Also,

It does not matter if one of the lines that make up the “+” symbol is lighter or darker than the other.

Bottom line

If you have a faint blue line on your Equate Pregnancy Test, consider it as part of a valid result. As long as your result meets the aforementioned criteria for a positive result, you’re pregnant!

Can a faint line be negative?

Can a barely visible pregnancy test result be negative? A barely visible pregnancy test result usually can't be negative — because it detected hCG — but it might indicate a false positive for actual pregnancy or an early pregnancy loss. You can also get a false negative result.

Why is the line on my pregnancy test faint?

What causes faint positive lines on a pregnancy test? The strength of the positive test line depends on how much hCG is in your urine. If the line is faint, it usually means that the hCG level is low. One reason why hCG levels may be low could be because you're still very early into your pregnancy.

Is a faint line a weak positive?

If the window on the testing stick shows two lines, the tester is positive for COVID-19. The opaqueness of the lines also can indicate more, Vail said. If the line is fainter, the patient is likely to be less sick, less infectious, or might be nearing the end of infection, Vail said.

How accurate are equate early pregnancy tests?

All home pregnancy tests are up to 99 percent accurate if you follow the instructions. That's just as reliable as the urine pregnancy tests used at doctors' offices.
