For 2022, Disney World ticket prices start at $109 per ticket and max out at $159. This does not include a 6.5% sales tax. But when you add on options like Park Hopper, Memory Maker, or Water Park and Sports, ticket prices can really add up. These ticket prices are for guests 10+. Disney World tickets for guests 3 to 9 start at $104. Guests under 3 don’t need a ticket. Important: Just because you have a Disney World ticket in hand does not mean you can get in to the park. As Disney continues to monitor and limit capacity, you must have an approved Park Pass reservation. Check the Park Pass calendar to make sure your dates are open (availability varies by specific park), purchase your tickets, and then immediately book your Park Pass for your preferred dates. Disney World Ticket Price HikesWe express ticket prices for Walt Disney World as a range ($109 to $159) because the cost of an individual ticket can fluctuate by day. While Disney advertises that its tickets start at $109, many days (in fact, most days) start higher. Disney World tickets cost $109 at a minimum in 2022. Particularly busy days, like during the summer months, start at $129 to $139. And as we get into holiday territory? Expect to pay $154 to $159 per ticket on many days, especially weekends. 2022 Disney World Ticket Prices BreakdownA standard one-day ticket gets you access to a single park. Looking to save money? Here’s how to have a free day at Walt Disney World … Disney World Ticket Add-OnsWhen you are purchasing a ticket, Disney will throw a bunch of extra options at you. And depending on the way you plan to tackle your vacation, some of these, though they add to the cost, may really deliver extra value to your experience. Add-ons increase the cost of Disney World tickets. Screenshot: Disney Park Hopper Add-OnThe most common add-on for Disney World Tickets is Park Hopper. This allows you to visit more than one theme park in the same day—and you don’t even need a Park Pass Reservation for the additional parks. So how much does Park Hopper cost? $65 per ticket. You must wait until 2 PM to begin park hopping, and you have to visit your initial park for the day first. That means if you have a ticket to Animal Kingdom with Park Hopper and you want to go to EPCOT, you first have to enter Animal Kingdom and then wait until at least 2 to go to EPCOT. Start your day in Magic Kingdom, then park hop over to EPCOT to see Spaceship Earth all lit up. Photo by Danny Shuster Pro Tip: Is EPCOT all booked up on your desired date? Get a reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, spend the morning riding Rise of the Resistance and Slinky Dog Dash, and then take the Skyliner over to EPCOT at 2. You’ll have a late start, but the festival booths and Spaceship Earth will still be waiting for you. Water Park and Sports Add-OnFor $70, you can add the Water Park and Sports option to your ticket. In addition to entry to one of Disney World’s four parks, you can choose one of the following:
Park Hopper PlusIf you are wildly ambitious, you might consider spending the morning at Magic Kingdom, hitting the waves at Blizzard Beach, and then finishing out the day with a cocktail and fireworks at EPCOT’s World Showcase. For that, you’d need Park Hopper Plus, which combines the benefits of Park Hopper and the Water Park and Sports options. This adds $85 to each ticket. Memory MakerMemory Maker is nice but comes at a steep cost. These hard-ticket events offer guests a unique experience inside the parks after they’ve closed. Guests can ride select attractions with much shorter queues, experience special cavalcades and parades, get unlimited free snacks, and try exclusive premium food and beverages. The best part of After Hours is that you do not need a regular admission ticket or a Park Pass reservation to attend.. And you can enter the parks a few hours before the event actually begins; think of it as a way to hit up some of your favorite rides (“for free”) before the party begins. Do Disney Tickets Come With Free Parking?Of course, the 2022 Disney World ticket prices discussed above are only part of your overall budgeting. You’ve got to factor in food and merch while you’re there, plus airfare and transportation to the resort or parking at the resort if you’re driving yourself. (And don’t forget gas prices—fuel ain’t cheap right now.) A parking lot at EPCOT. Photo by Rich Ramos Unfortunately, parking at Disney World is expensive. (Sorry, Disney World tickets do not include free parking.) Whether you’re staying on property or just visiting for the day, you’ll have to pay to park (unless you have an Annual Pass). Walt Disney World Hotel ParkingIf you are a resort guest, you have to pay a Standard Overnight Parking charge (for self-parking). Walt Disney World Theme Park ParkingResort guests can utilize free transportation from their resort to any of the parks on Disney Property, or they can drive to the parks themselves (and get free parking there). But if you’re staying off property or a local visiting for the day, you’ll pay a daily parking rate to visit. Parking at any Walt Disney World theme park varies by type:
If you are park hopping, you only have to pay for parking once. Note: Parking at Disney Springs is free, but guests are technically not allowed to park in the Disney Springs garages and take transportation to theme parks to eschew parking costs. How Much Do Disney World Tickets Cost? A Real-World ExampleLet’s put all this information into practice to figure out how much one day at Disney World might cost a family of four: two parents, one child 10+, and one child under 10. How much does it cost for a family of four at Disney World? Photo courtesy of Disney This family purchases Park Hopper for each ticket and stays off property, so they will pay a parking fee for Magic Kingdom, where they start their day. Their selected day is $204 per adult with Park Hopper. Each person in the group also wants Genie+, which costs $15 per person. Finally, the family wants Memory Maker for their special day.
Total: $1,017.72 A sample one-day ticket package for a family of four. How to Save on Disney World TicketsClearly, a Disney World vacation is expensive. But luckily, there are plenty of ways to save on tickets to Disney World. Here are a few: Go More DaysYou’ve got to spend money to make money, right? The longer your stay, the cheaper each daily ticket becomes. Going to the parks more days means cheaper Disney World tickets. Screenshot: Disney For example, a one-day $109 ticket drops to $55 per day when you buy a 10-day ticket. That 10-day ticket, of course, costs $550 total, plus tax. But each day is roughly 50% cheaper than if you bought a single-day admission. Look Out for Discounts and DealsStaying on property used to mean a lot of perks, like free transportation to and from the airport and extended hours in the park. While these perks have gone away (or have been altered), there’s still a reason to stay on property: deals and discounts. Throughout the year, Disney will offer a range of discounts not just on tickets but also on resort stay packages, which include tickets to the park. Bookmark our Walt Disney World discounts and deals page to stay on top of these magical offerings. Get an Annual PassSince Disney brought back the Annual Pass program, it’s been plagued with some issues. Namely, only one pass is available to non-Florida residents, and it’s super expensive (and almost always sold out). But if you plan to visit regularly, especially as a Florida resident, an Annual Pass can save you tremendously on Disney World ticket prices. Plus, you’ll get free parking and great discounts on purchases in the parks. Become DVCLet’s not beat around the bush: Disney Vacation Club is expensive. But if you plan to visit Disney World multiple times a year for the rest of your life, joining DVC might make sense for you. DVC is costly but is a good value for regular visitors. Photo by Courtney Reynolds It won’t get you free access to the parks, but it will get you great discounts and give you access to the most luxurious stays on Disney Property. Skip the ParksThis one is technically cheating: The easiest way to save on Disney World ticket prices is not to buy the tickets. Womp womp. But there’s plenty to do at Walt Disney World without setting foot inside a park. Ride the Skyliner (it’s free!), go resort hopping, enjoy your hotel’s pool, or spend the day window shopping at Disney Springs. Go at Non-Peak TimesAs we’ve seen, Disney World ticket prices in 2022 can fluctuate greatly. Disney has built this around the ebbs and flows of crowds: The busier the parks are projected to be, the more Disney can comfortably charge. Use this information to your advantage by planning your trip at non-peak times. The weather might not be as great, and you might have to pull the kids out of school, but going at non-peak times means cheaper Disney World tickets and smaller crowds.
