The original recipe of Giulio Cocchi calls for the use of herbs such as Cinchona and rhubarb which lightly color of brown the beautiful clear wine. In order to emphasize its amber tone, the addition of sugar browned on fire emphasizes its amber tone, giving together with color also a special note to the taste: crunchy and cotton candy able to round all the bitter tastes without using vanilla.
Cocchi Vermouth di Torino is a thrilling vermouth, rich in sensations: among the herbs and the aromatizing spices, Artemisia and citrus are the protagonists with their balanced bitter and citrusy notes which characterize Cocchi style.
A rich taste with vibrant notes of cocoa and bitter orange. From the infusion of some noble and balsamic woods, we have in the end light aromas of camphor and rosemary notes. Among the minor ingredients, herbs and woods with unique perfumes such as sandal, musk, myrrh and nutmeg.

Tasting Notes
Resurrected from a recipe first offered in 1891, this vermouth uses the Moscato grape as its base. It has an amber color with notes of orange, green grapes, rhubarb, tobacco, cola, and leather. Complex indeed. We'd recommend drinking neat or in cocktails as an alternative to sweet vermouth.

Piedmont
The most famous grape in Piedmont is the noble Nebbiolo, which makes the long-lived Barolo and Barbaresco. There are plenty of Nebbiolo-based wines that are quite enjoyable in their youth, however, often produced in smaller, lesser-known regions such as Ghemme or Gattinara. Several other Piedmontese grapes make striking and delicious wines: Pelaverga produces light-colored reds with distinctive...

Made to a family recipe created more than 100 years ago, Cocchi's rich, intense, well-rounded flavour sets it apart from the competition. With enticing notes of red fruits and orange, this is a versatile vermouth that is delicious served on its own with ice, but also makes a great base for a range of cocktails, including a Manhattan, Martinez or Negroni.

About Flavour Profile Facts Tasting Notes Reviews Allergens & Ingredients How We PackFounded in 1891 in the Italian town of Asti by Giulio Cocchi, the winery created aromatic botanical-infused wines, and by the turn of the century its Barolo Chinato and Aperitivo Americano were popular overseas as well. Now owned by the Bava family, well-renowned wine producers themselves, Cocchi maintains its artisanal character and uses traditional recipes and techniques to create some of the world’s most-respected vermouths and aperitifs.
Cocchi’s owner and Managing Director Roberto Bava is the visionary key to the brand’s success. Watch his interview with our Head Buyer Dawn Davies MW to learn more about him, his approach to creating drinks and how he has helped Cocchi retake its place as one of Italy’s best-loved vermouth makers.
Cocchi is a fantastic in a Negroni but if you’re a whisky lover you might prefer the Boulevardier cocktail, in which the gin is swapped out for whisky. Try Cocchi’s preferred recipe below:
- 35ml Micther’s US*1 Original Sour Mash Whiskey
- 20ml Cocchi Vermouth Di Torino
- 20ml Campari
Stir all ingredients with ice and strain into an ice-filled glass. Garnish with an orange zest twist.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Rich, inviting nose of red-berry fruits and rose petals along with candied orange peel and bitter cherries.
Palate
Cherry menthol notes and stewed raspberries, orange peel and a subtle, savoury herbaceous note. Rich, mouthfilling texture; the refreshing bittersweet character tempts you to take another sip.
Finish
Very clean and refreshing, with the fruit and herbs intermingling beautifully.
Comment
What sets this vermouth apart is the whistle-clean fruitiness, with no harshness. Pitch-perfect balance between bitterness and sweetness.
Producer's Notes
This is a remarkably complex aperitif wine.
On the nose you immediately find aromas of singed orange peel, vanilla and caramel. Over time, faint menthol notes develop into aromas reminiscent of dandelion and burdock.
This vermouth is very full flavoured, the palate immediately detecting a bitter, earthy character which is very well balanced against the sweeter notes of liquorice, orange zest and sugar.
A very bold, long finish, with the bitter/sweet balance staying with you to the end.

Amazing Manhattans! just delicious.

You simply cannot use anything else for your negroni. This is the best.

Simply one of the most delicious things to drink-makes a mean Manhattan or Flying Scotsman and essential for a Negroni it’s also great served on the rocks. Like a combination of coco cola, Dr Pepper and wine (but if that combination worked perfectly).

Delicious vermouth, perfect for negronis!

I have tried other vermouths such us "Il professore" ( expensive ) but Cocchi will do the job if you want something for a start with a pleasant aroma and taste in your mouth. Also recommend next to kind products like Cochi rossa.
