What is a spicy chicken sandwich combo?

Adults and youth (ages 13 and older) need an average of 2,000 calories a day, and children (ages 4 to 12) need an average of 1,500 calories a day. However, individual needs vary. Additional nutrition information available upon request.

Chick-fil-A could be adding more heat to its menu. While the spicy chicken sandwich has been a staple on the Chick-fil-A menu for almost a decade, the company is looking to expand its spicier offerings.

Testing in Philadelphia, Central Texas, South Texas, and Phoenix began last year, and customers can still try the new Spicy Chick-n-Strips, which the company describes as a combination of two customer favorites, the original Chick-fil-A Chick-n-Strips and the Spicy Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich.

Beginning on January 14, in Phoenix, Yuma, and Tucson, Chick-fil-A is launching three new spicy items to test: Grilled Spicy Deluxe Sandwich, Spicy Chick-n-Strips Biscuit, and the Grilled Spicy Deluxe Bundle (which is available on the catering menu).

“We’re excited to spice-up the menu and see what happens in these test markets,” said Matt Reed from Chick-fil-A’s menu development team, in a statement.

Chick-fil-A’s new Spicy Chick-n-Strips Biscuit is a breakfast sandwich that’s topped with two Spicy Chick-n-Strips, which are seasoned with a blend of spicy peppers, on a buttermilk biscuit.

The Grilled Spicy Chicken Deluxe Sandwich is a lighter take on Chick-fil-A’s Spicy Chicken Sandwich. The brand marinates in a spice blend before it’s grilled and then topped with lettuce, tomato, Colby-Jack cheese, and a new Cilantro Lime sauce. Chick-fil-A tested this sandwich on customers in Orlando, St. Louis, and Knoxville, however, it’s new to the Phoenix market.

The spicy doesn’t end on the regular restaurant menu. Customers who are catering with Chick-fil-A will be able to order the Grilled Spicy Deluxe Bundle for their next gathering. The bundle feeds 10 people and comes with multigrain brioche buns, spicy grilled filets, and the new Cilantro Lime Sauce, so guests can build their own sandwich.

A New Sweet Treat

Chick-fil-A is also testing a new dessert item in 2019. The new chocolate fudge brownie was made for chocolate lovers with a fudgy and cakey base, which is sprinkled with milk and semisweet chocolate chunks.

Beginning on January 14, customers in the Bay Area, South Florida, and Richmond, Virginia-area will be able to order the new brownies for a limited time.

Chick-fil-A is looking for feedback from customers in the test markets to determine whether or not these new items will remain on the menu permanently and if they will be launched nationwide.

Chick-fil-A is spicing up its menu for fall.

Starting Monday, the fast-food chain will offer a new Autumn Spice Milkshake and customers can again order its Grilled Spicy Deluxe Chicken Sandwich.

The milkshake, the chain's first new flavor available nationwide in four years, is made with spices including cinnamon, brown sugar cookie bits and is topped with whipped cream and a cherry (delivery orders don't get the toppings).

Chick-fil-A tested the milkshake in October 2021 in Salt Lake City "and we received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback which inspired our decision to launch this new milkshake nationwide," said Leslie Neslage, Chick-fil-A's director of menu and packaging, in a news release.

The sandwich, first introduced in 2021, features grilled chicken marinated in a spicy seasoning on a toasted multigrain brioche bun with Colby-Jack cheese, lettuce and tomato.

Both seasonal items will be available at participating stores nationwide Sept. 12- Nov. 12.
