New York City bursts with holiday decorations.

The Langham Hotel

No city celebrates the holiday season quite like the Big Apple. The Radio City Rockettes are high kicking while The Nutcracker is performed by the New York City Ballet. If you happen to be one of the millions of tourists who visit the city during the holidays, take some time to see the following hotel decorations and celebratory events that are sure to put you in a very festive mood.

The Langham Hotel celebrates the holidays in big ways.

The Langham Hotel

The Langham, New York

Located on iconic Fifth Avenue, The Langham, New York partnered with American Christmas to create a pink-tinged Christmas tree and wreaths, festooned with ornaments in gold, silver and The Langham’s signature color of pale pink. Also, for the first time this year, the awning will be home to some very festive sculptural reindeer who escaped from Santa’s sleigh to spend the holidays looking out over Fifth Avenue. Also just in time for the holidays, Charbonnel et Walker, one of Britain’s oldest and most legendary gourmet chocolatiers, will use The Langham’s lobby as a temporary pop-up shop for some of their most delectable treats. On Dec. 7-8 and 11 Dec. 14-15, the team from Charbonnel et Walker will be selling some of their most famous gift items, perfect for holiday gifting.

Vintage trunks add a classic touch to the hotel's holiday decor.

Maggie Marguerite Studio

Sofitel New York

This year, Sofitel New York is taking holiday décor to new heights – high fashion, that is. The Midtown Manhattan hotel, renowned for its rotating lobby exhibitions featuring everything from art to fashion, will sprinkle nostalgia over the world of haute couture to evoke The Golden Age of Travel this holiday season. Blending culture and design, pillars that convey the essence of the Sofitel brand, a Christmas Couture display will transform the hotel’s lobby into a fashion maison, an invitation to “live the French way.” Standing 15 feet tall in the lobby’s rotunda will be a Christmas tree made entirely of French vintage Louis Vuitton trunks. At this unique pop-up shop, every piece will be for sale. Designed and curated by The Well Traveled Trunk, a company that sources antique trunks, the tree will feature pieces that tell the fascinating tales of royalty and great explorers who used the trunks to travel the world. Every piece is more than 100 years old. The one-of-a-kind display brings guests a stylish holiday experience with a touch of French “Art de vivre.”

Guests are treated to sweet and savory holiday bites and beverages.
