Came to @tsuiwahsingapore for comfort food and the food was ok, I would have liked it more if all the bread items were more crispy 😆 the milk tea is good though!

I know my pic only shows the condensed milk bun and milk tea which is always good and comforting but oh my god we also ordered the king prawns xo sauce noodle dish and oh boy MY EYES OPENED WIDE I SWEAR like the noodles themselves were so aromatic but when you add the xo sauce served separately it's elevated to a whole other level like just try it, just try it

~Cart Noodles (Price varies)
~Pork Spare Ribs with Capsicum & Black Bean Sauce served with Rice ($16)
~Authentic Cantonese Fresh Shrimp Wonton Soup ($10)
~French Toast with Syrup & Butter ($6)

I enjoyed the Cart Noodles, which is entirely customisable from the choice of noodles to broth and ingredients. We chose instant noodles and braised spicy beef broth, topping it with braised beef brisket, curry pork skin, and curry fishball. Another dish I liked was the Authentic Cantonese Fresh Shrimp Wonton Soup! I liked that each wonton was plump and had fillings like ti po (dried sole fish) inside! We ended our meal with the Indulgent French Toast with Syrup & Butter.

QQ chewy texture dip with brown sugar. One of my must order dish whenever I am here.

Overall a decent plate of chicken cutlet. The potato chips crumb indeed does make the cutlet crisper. Apart from that nothing else really stands out for this dish.

Third time trying @thehainanstorybakery 's swiss rolls! Ive tried their belgian chocolate roll and kaya pandan roll before, which were great, so my standards for this roll were pretty high too.

Was kinda surprised to find that the taro filling had been cooked with fried shallots inside, cuz Ive never had a yam cake with shallots before. Hence this cake roll was very slightly more savoury than other yam cakes I've had.

The yam filling was very very smooth and had a natural yam taste. The addition of fried shallots added an fragrant onion aroma that wasn't overwhelming or strange.

The cake was also suuuuper soft and fluffy. That, combined with the generous amount of yam filling, made this a really good cake!

You can get this swiss roll, along with plenty of @thehainanstorybakery 's other bakes with FREE DELIVERY via @pickupp.sg ! Get an extra $5 off when you use my code 《BREADINOSAUR》when checking out with a min spend of $14 😚

Since opening their first outlet in Singapore Aug 2021 at Jewel Changi Airport, TAI ER 太二酸菜鱼 @taiersingapore, the popular Chinese restaurant fully booked till now. I was lucky to secure a table at TAI ER for lunch gathering with friends recently.

Aside from ordering their signature dishes such as Suancai & Fish, Fried Crispy Prawn topped with Mustard, Abalone & Shrimp in Spicy Sauce, Seaweed Roll with Salted Egg Yolk, Egg Coated Glutinous Rice Rolls with Brown Sugar, Sichuan pepper milk tea, Ice Jelly with Fruits & Coconut milk, something caught our eye is the NEW Spicy Cereal Prawn. The Cereal prawn is deep fried till it is crispy and you can eat it with the shell, it tastes like fireworks exploding in your mouth! So shiok.

I heard that they are opening their second outlet at JEM soon! This is good news for me and especially those who stayed in the west! I was also told that you are no longer required to make a booking a week in advance, TAI ER is accepting walk-ins now!

And since no queue, decided to try their famous Chinese Sauerkraut Fish.
The fish is tender and boneless, the soup a bit oily, but the flavour balance between spiciness, sour and numbing, from combination of red chillies, peppercorn and pickled cabbage.

Touched down at Changi in the afternoon and decided to head for an early dinner at Jewel. Having tried Lenu at multiple outlets (Funan, Jem, RWS), we can say that it is one of the chains with pretty consistent standards cross its outlets and a safe choice to go for when you’re craving a bowl of Chinese style noodles. With noodles cooked to a chewy texture (we actually still prefer Tongue Tip’s noodles though), the chili oil vinaigrette provided each mouthful with a delicate balance of spice, acidity and umami. The dumplings were also nicely wrapped with a generous chunk of minced pork. For fans of coriander or spring onions, you may request for an additional serving of these herbs to go with your noodles. The servings at Lenu tend to be quite big and you’re sure to leave the establishment with your tummies satisfied. There is also the ability to top-up your mains with a drink (with options such as green tea and soft drinks) and a side (such as black fungus and braised tofu).

Service was also efficient - our food came shortly after we placed our orders online.

Located at B2 of Jewel, The Hainan Story offers a wide range of Hainanese delicacies, including chicken rice, pork cutlet and curry rice. It was a popular spot and we had to wait awhile for a seat on a Friday evening. Food was however served quickly upon ordering through our phones.

For the curry rice dishes, one could select between a sunny side-up or the long bean omelette (pictured), as well as between spicy lady’s finger or chap chye (pictured). While decent, the omelette was nothing special. I felt the same way about the chap chye, which included pieces of fish maw, mushrooms, carrot and cabbage drowning in a thick viscous sauce. The tempeh pieces and koropok were more special. For the protein, the dory fish was fried well, with a crunchy surface and tender meat beneath the breading. The curry sauce coating the rice grains was flavorful and the chili sauce given at the side gave the dish an extra hint of spiciness desired for spice lovers.

The egg tarts, while served cold, were also pretty decent. The buttery base was fragrant and the eggy centre was tender.

For a place like Jewel, we feel that the prices are acceptable and the standards are pretty good too.
