With around 130 institutions across the state offering business programs at the bachelor’s level and above, New York offers around the top number of business school options of any state.1 New York is also home to three of the nation’s eight Ivy League universities and three of the top 20 private liberal arts colleges, based on Niche’s rankings.

Business courses are an incredibly popular option in New York, home to three of the 15 schools rated as the “Best Colleges for Business in the USA” by US News & World Report. One reason for this is likely the presence of some of the top global corporations and businesses in the Empire State.

Of non-community colleges, CUNY City College offers the most affordable tuition at $6,689, with financial assistance as high as $6,807. If you go to a community college, rates are slightly cheaper, with admission costs starting at $5,206 before aid.

The most difficult school to get into is Columbia University: its 7% acceptance rate is half that of the second most challenging school, Cornell University. Not surprisingly, these two institutions have the highest tuition in New York, with Columbia University starting at $55,056 and Cornell at $50,953. Columbia does offer the highest financial aid among the schools on our list, at up to $47,950, which helps reduce overall costs considerably for those who qualify. Both Columbia and Cornell boast a graduation rate of 94% – tied for first on our list – so if you get in, at least there’s a good chance you will get your degree.

The schools with the highest tuition on our list are Columbia and Syracuse University, at $168,307 and $126,170, respectively. The University of Rochester is not far behind at $108,551.

There are 12 schools where at least 87% of faculty members have doctorate degrees; Niagara University has the lowest reported percentage of doctorally-trained faculty at 14%.
