Topic: Fully Favorable with Amended onset Date!! (Read 4451 times) Show I have been waiting to post this until I received something "Official" from Social Security or ODAR. My lawyer called me three days before my scheduled hearing date and said that she had received a phone call from the ALJ. The Judge said if I was willing to change my AOD to December 15, 2013 (11 months forward), then he was prepared to issue a fully favorable decision in my case. I did not hesitate to say Yes. It has taken from December 02 until now to get the letter from the Judge with the Fully favorable decision. Although I believed my lawyer, I didn't want to post anything until I saw it in writing. I still have not received any documentation from SS or any money in my account, but now I know for sure there will be some relief to my financial situation, and my anxiety level will improve significantly. I posted here after I submitted my initial application and before the reconsideration phase, and have been following the forum since then. I plan to post more about my experience with SSD in the appropriate section soon. A heartfelt "Thank You" goes out to the owner of this site for providing a place to learn, to share, and to vent. And Thank You to the Mods and all of you who share their knowledge and support to those of us going through this difficult process. As soon as I see any money, I will be making a contribution to the site. LoggedLogged Congrats!!! And definitely post most about your experience when you're able to! Congrats on the great news! I felt the same way after hearing from my attorney about my approval. I didn't want to count on it all being true until I saw it in writing. LoggedToday I was deflated once again. When I got the call from my lawyer on Dec 2, 2016 asking if I'd be willing to change my AOD, I thought that was the decision date. I've been watching for money to hit my account nearly every day since. Today I found out that the actual decision date wasn't until Feb 10. I made a call to the local SS office, to see if they knew anything about my payment, and he tells me my case is in Quality Review. He describes Quality Review as the normal process of figuring out my back pay amount, onset dates and other details that will be in my award letter. That is not what I understood Quality Review to be, and if I understand it correctly, there is still a chance that I may not be approved. Someone please tell me I'm wrong. Quality Review does not determine backpay, etc. Quality Review reviews a percentage of ALJ decisions. It does not necessarily result in a decision change but it is possible. « Last Edit: February 21, 2017, 02:02:14 pm by Helper » LoggedModerator Even if you receive a verbal approval, the decision still must be written up and signed off on. A little over 30 days is very reasonable for that to occur. From the decision date, QR has 60 days to review it. What he is describing is not QR. Maybe he called by the wrong name. Maybe he described what they'd be doing incorrectly. LoggedI know what he was describing is not Quality Review, at least that's what I thought. I continue to be in Dire Need status in real life. I have less than $200.00 to last until whenever they decide to send me some money. Meanwhile, I have doctors appointments and medication to buy. My therapist saw me today knowing I couldn't pay her. I went to social services today to request they pay my power bill or it would be disconnected tomorrow. So I decided to call again and see if perhaps they needed some information or if I needed a rep payee or whatever. The same guy answered the phone as I talked to before. So I don't know what to think about what he said. I just hope he does not know what he is talking about. LoggedYEAH!!Yeah!! YEAH!!!!
Finally a change on the My SSA website. This morning it shows that I am receiving benefits, what the Medicare Part B will cost and when to expect the first monthly payment. So far no deposit, but at least some wheels are turning. LoggedJust hang in there until then. You can do it!!!!!! Thank You Miller. I've been hanging on by the skin of my teeth for a while now. I'm not about to let go now. Hopefully it won't be much longer. It's looking like I'll get a deposit on next Wednesday of my regular monthly benefit. No word on the back pay yet, but that regular check will help a lot. Logged Logged Logged How long from the date of decision until the date of deposit? LoggedWhat does onset mean in disability?Your disability onset date is the date the Social Security Administration (SSA) believes you became unable to work as the result of your disabling condition. When you apply for benefits, you will be asked to provide the date at which you believe your disability started. This is referred to as your alleged onset date.
