2013 Nissan Pathfinder Asked by in Houston, TX on August 24, 2016 Automatic won't shift from park. 3 replies Report The pcm is not communicating with the shift solenoid. First , check your brake lights. IF the brake light switch is not operating , THEN the PCM will not allow it to activate the 'shift lock solenoid' enabling it to come out of park. Fairly common , testing can easily confirm this PRIOR to buying possibly an unnecessary part. Might also check (ALL) fuses , that is also a possibility. and if you're concerned about a recall you can call the dealer with the vin, or check NissanUSA.com for recalls. Where is the shift interlock solenoid located? The shift interlock solenoid is a member of the shifter assembly in the center console or the steering column. It locks the shifter in PARK until the brake pedal has been depressed.
